Anxiety is rampant lately. I don't know why but it's very severe. I don't have a prn. My heart beats so hard I feel it on the surface of my chest and can sometimes see it. I cry and sleep because being awake is more anxiety-ridden than having a panic attack in my sleep which is most of the time. I don't have an inner peace any more. It's gone. I can't remember how to bring it back

I am so sorry, Sorry. Anxiety can just be so crippling, I know from my own experience wiht it. Do you hvae any prn's by any chance? If not, could you possibly call your pdoc for some support? Klonopin alwasy worked fo rme, but it aggravates my derpession, so, cannot take it. I do deep breathing and prayer now and it helps me a lot.

Sending you peace and relief. Hugs!!!!

They won't give me any benzos because I overdosed on them once. I can't take a lot of the "allergy" meds used for anxiety because they cause depression. I'm kind of stuck. I used to be able to use deep breathing but now it's hard to breathe even slowly. I'm not really religious, but I am spiritual in a different way. I'm even an ordained minister, church of the latter day Dude. Yet, I don't place faith in anything. This anxiety cannot be good for my heart or healing.

Some people here on th site report good results with Seroquel and Zyprexa. Others do respond to Buspar, but I never did.

I am so sorry you are in this difficult situation, Sorry. I hope you can find something that will help you. Maybe look at those three and see what you think.

Buspar gave me hives. Zyprexa I don't completely remember, but I think it was one I was given briefly in hospital and couldn't function on, was tiptoeing and unsteady. I took Seroquel for a decade and eventually started to not function on it, passing out regularly throughout the day even though I took it at night.
Can Prozac cause increased anxiety? I feeling like it's too much, even though I'm only on 20. I'm also suspicious of levothyroxine levels being too high. I will try to get in for bloodwork soon

Prozac can def increase or cause anxiety, esp. in the first several weeks of use.

I've been taking kava twice a day and it's not been super helpful but does help a little. Sometimes I take benedryl but it seems like a rebound happens during sleep and right after walking up.
Maybe I am simply crazy

You're not crazy, Sorry. You are just dealing wiht some tough symptoms and cannot take the medication of choice right now. Have you ever revisited this benzo ban with the pdoc? I wonder if that is worth recondsidering. He could write for just a week at a time. That is one way to keep a handle on things, a tight handle. There is a way to do this.

I tried again after a hospitalization where they gave them to me and she said no because of both the attempt and the rebound the next day

Well, you need Klonopin. That is just my personal opinion as another patient. It can be done wiht extremely close oversight and you need help now. He could write for three days at a time. Easily. Personally, I would call and simply lay out how bad it is for you. Don't sugarcoat it. Say the words in all their pain. See what he says. You need some help and suffeing like this is just wrong. When opiate addicts have surgery, we do not deny them pain relief. We just do it super duper carefully.

Hugs!!!!!!!

Definitely get your TSH levels checked. If you are hyperthyroid that could explain your heart palpitations and anxiety symptoms. I have hypothyroidism. But, in the beginning of my treatment, my PX for thyroid medicine was too high, and I became hyperthyroid. It was scary because when you are hyperthyroid, you feel like everything is happening at 60 MPH. Sweating, racing thoughts, clammy skin, anxiety attacks, heart palpitations, crying jags, paranoia. terrible insomnia, being super irritable. After my dose was adjusted it took a couple of weeks to feel back to normal.

Personally, I think every medication invented causes anxiety and depression. If you feel like your Prozac dose is too high, then you should get it lowered. Lower all the dosages of your meds and wait and see if that helps your symptoms go away.

One more thing and, agin, just my personal opinion and nothng more, but, if this pdoc will not work to help relieve your discomfort, whatever that ultimately looks like, I would seriously look at having a consult with another one to see if you can find someoone a bit mroe bold. The fact is, in psychiatry today, things are sometimes complicaed pharmacologically and occasionally, risks must be taken in order to help the patient. I used to operate on people all the time knowing that it was potentially dangerous. Lethal, even. But the upside was important enough that we sometimes really just had no other good alternatives. Doing nothing was worse. You need somone with some self-confidence and a little courage to take a risk in order to assiste you. Just my opinion.
