So, I am considering buying a new bike. It is twice as expensive as my last one. I only have one rt now and this new one would be totally unique and provide a lot of enjoyment.

I have the money seat aside. But it is a lot for me. To give context, it is common for today's road bikes to cost more than $10,000. This one is less.

I do almost nothing for me. I ride 275 times a year. But still... Lotta money.

Posting this so I do not do something reckless. Not hypo. But more euthymic than in yrs. So, that is that.

Thanks!!!!!

I know it is a lot for you given your commitments. I also know how important riding is for you and how little you take for yourself. I'd say sit with the idea for a bit and just make sure it is what you really want.

If you haven't been euthymic in years it would be hard to really know if it is a true euthymic state or some kind of alternate you've just never seen before. I believe you, but these things are tricky to sort out without giving it proper time. Patterns can only show themselves as the days pass. Maybe check in with yourself over a period of time and see how the idea settles.

Normally I'd say it's your money, spend it how you want... But you paused and came here to ask for a reason. There's wisdom in that. Trust it.

I'm in agreement with fern. My inclination is to suggest that you go buy the bike tomorrow, but I also know that you have had some way ups and downs lately.

I will say, however, that I would be sad to see you swing from cautious to self-denial. Many times I purchase something nice for myself then constantly question if I was stable or manic when I bought the item. Kinda takes the joy out of it. (I hope that makes sense.)

If you can afford it without busting your budget and you ride that much I say you should go for it! I know how you feel though- its hard to spend a big chunk of change like that all at once.

Okay, so this is the one I really want, but waaaaay too expensive. Not getting this one. Thought those unfamiliar w new tech might like to see what they look like. Frames are all carbon fiber and shifting is now wireless--no cables at all. Brakes are disc now, like cars. This one is $12,000. Too much.

Welp, could not get pic posted. Sorry.

Decided after reflection to trick out the current bike and buy my daughter a cute girlie road bike so we can ride together. I think it is a better choice. Thanks, all, for supporting me. You mean so much to me!!!

That's really cool of you. I know I thoroughly enjoyed family bike rides when we were on vacation a few weeks ago. Wishing you the best with this!
