My pdoc just sent me home with samples of Caplyta. May or may not try it. Anyone have experience with this drug? I've never heard of it before.

It's an antipsychotic. It's technically FDA approved for schizophrenia but it's used off-label for bipolar depression.

I don't have any direct experience with Caplyta. I know that it's a new medication. I've seen a few people on PC mention that they're taking it. I'm curious to know what you think of it after a bit.

Why was it prescribed to you?

We're considering trying it as a replacement for my Latuda. So something for the depression, and apparently this drug makes you tired. We're trying to fix my sleep. He just wanted me to try it a couple days. I'm also going to be playing around with my trazodone and clonezepam some over the next month.

I had never heard of that medication until now. Like BethRags wrote, please let us know how it goes for you. Best of luck with it!

It does appear to have some potentially thoughtful strategies from a molecular pharmacology perspective. That said, itis extremely disappointing that it is sedatimg and yet, marketing itself as a breakthrough. Unless specifically targeting sleep, breakthrough bp and sz spectrum agents in 2020 should never, ever cause unwanted sedation. Ever.

Maybe take it an hr. before nigh nigh, like doxepin or Serokill or whatever. Hope it helps!!

Sounds like med has some good potential.
