Starting a new thread since we exceeded 100 pages with the last one. I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone is doing physically.

For anyone new, this is a thread where we discuss our physical successes and struggles. We also share eating plan updates and ideas, exercise stories, and in general how our bodies are feeling. Bipolar disorder is more than just a mental experience, so I invite everyone to jump in and focus on this aspect of our health together.

BirdDancer, I was 'rolling' after reading the Obama story. Too funny!

I also thought it was hysterical that the government had gotten involved at some point in the pork roll story and had deemed that it was 'not legally ham' and Taylor had to change their name.

I tell my kids they should strive to learn something every day. My education for today is complete. Ha!

LOL! Thanks for joining me in the fun of this. Thanks to wildchildflower for sparking it.

I am starting to feel better. I'm sure time, relaxation, and of course the antibiotics, are to thank. I did much more yesterday than I have done for several days. Hubby especially appreciated the nice dinner I prepared. I'm thinking how long it's been since I exercised. Being sick, I've felt incredibly weak and tire easily. I don't know how much exercise would be good and how much would be detrimental.

Bizi, you are rocking it! Keep goin' one day at a time.

Hugs to my PC friends that continue to deal with pain and physical discomfort.

I’m four days cigarette and nicotine free. Getting through by chewing lots of gum! The longest i’ve gone since my son was born (I didn’t smoke while pregnant) has been 5.5 months and that was while vaping. This is the first attempt I’ve made without a vape. We shall see! It’s getting easier.

Thanks fern, for the 1st thread and this one, too.!

Congrats to Bizi and to WIldflowerchild!!!

It's quite a challenge to make it 47 days AF!!
It is also quite a challenge to make it 4 days with not smoking!!!

Both are a day at a time... or maybe an hour at a time sometimes.

I had fallen into smoking in my early 20's only because everyone I had worked with were smokers. I had started to have a smoke here and there and ... well, we all know what happened! I had tried many times to quit, using different approaches.. I wanted desperately to quit. It took me almost 3 years of trying and failing, trying and failing, on and on it went. In time, I had tried the nicotine gum and became addicted to that! It was better than smoking; however, the addiction was very strong! It took me another year to get off of the nicotine gum, which I did by switching to the patch and chewing a lot of gum!

All of this to say: It is very tough to give up addictions. I admire anyone who is able to do so. I have absolutely no judgment of anyone unable to quit their addiction, whatever it may be. True addictions are so very tough to kick and not everyone can do it.

Much Love to All!

I hate to say it, I really do... I am in such pain.

I have been here at PC, trying to distract myself and it has worked, to some degree.
A lot of it is searing pain (nerves). I am trying to breathe my way through it. Ugghh!
There is not much else my doctors can do. I already have access to meds the ER might give me (if they practice true and compassionate pain relief,. that is..)

I have seen all kinds of specialists in medicine and in holistic healthcare for the past 30 years.
I am working with my chiropractor, as she and I often find a way to find some relief. She is very intuitive and creative and we make a great team.
If nothing else, it is very healing to know she is always willing to do her best to help out!

I hope everyone is having a good day!

It makes me sad that you, Christina, and some others here, suffer so much from pain, and often insomnia that comes with it. Nerve pain sounds so horrible! I guess at least muscle pains can be a little easier to temporarily relieve with massage, and such.

I'm very much hoping that some better treatments are created, for pain, in the future. Definitely ones that do more good than harm (by harm I'm referring to opiods, and such).

I'm glad you were honest. It helps sometimes just to get it out and let someone know we're hurting. I cannot say enough how sorry I am you experience pain like this. It just plain sucks. I wish there was something more we could do for you. Hopefully there will be some wonderfully engaging and distracting posts for you this evening. Much love to you WC!!!

I saw my GI doctor the other day. I am going on an elimination diet after Christmas (thank God I can wait; it would be 100x harder than it already will be if all that good food was around). For 2 weeks I'm only allowed rice, water, chicken broth, chicken, white fish, pork, and turkey with only a few spices. After that I add 1 food group at a time back in and then
know more about what makes me sick. I'm dreading this as no variety in my diet for weeks sounds horrid but if it solves my problem I'll survive. The dr said if I hate him by day 2 I'm doing it right.

I'm going to miss vegetables, tea, chocolate.......

I haven't been eating very healthy lately. Part of the reason is I keep putting off going to the actual grocery store and have been getting by with stuff from convenience stores which is pretty much all junk food. But I will be able to go to the actual grocery store Tuesday so I'm looking forward to that.

Otherwise I'm doing well. Have a dentist appointment for fillings coming up, that's not a problem though, it will be a relief to get it taken care of.

Thanks for the shiny new thread

Well my pain is really unbearable, I really get tired of being a broken record but it just is so hard and I do need to get it off my chest.

Because of my breathing ( another broken record) I am not on a Med for my PsA , those meds keep my skin clear... I am having a huge psoriasis flare starting the back on my head is screaming and it itches something horrible , I scratch until it bleeds. I’m like a dog with mange. I’m super worried it’s going to start on my ( sorry TMI) lady parts like last time. Omg I can’t even explain the horrific pain.

The pain and psoriasis is going to just be an ongoing problem until the breathing resolves so this will be something I have to deal with while gone for Florida. Oh joy right ?

I appreciate your being Present and sensitive to the pain people endure. We all endure pain in one form or another. I often think emotional pain is even more painful that physical pain; The whole topic of pain fascinates me on some level. I think there is a great deal we do not understand about pain of all types.

I do feel helpful treatments are likely quite a ways off. it's possible to have a good life, even with chronic pain. The goal, with chronic pain, is to acknowledge the pain and continue to observe it, and to not allow it the power to cause great suffering, if at all possible. Anyone who knows me will tell you I laugh a lot!

I have had to resort to using opioids over the past 20 years. I take them daily,. I have been very grateful for them. They don' t treat pain the way they used to!! I refuse to increase those meds at this point. I have been hoping some other approaches will help out. I am still waiting,,,,

I sincerely appreciate my friends here,, Your love and support is the best medicine!!!

Thank you so much. I can’t explain how much your constant support helps me.

Although I wish we had actual more fun things ( which we do) in common and not this pain of all kinds. Fibro is muscle and nerve pain and PsA is joint pain. We just can’t win LOL I like you must laugh about it to cope.

I get up to do something and my feet and legs sound like a bowl of rice crispies !

I’m only 52 ! I hate to think of it getting worse, maybe I’ll sound like a old car going down the road just having heavy parts fall off Hahahaha
