I have a white overgrowth on my tongue due to dry mouth (caused by several medications) it has gotten LOT worse since starting Lamictal about 3 years ago. There are SWATHES of it on my tongue. Impossible to remove by brushing or normal mouth rinses. Have to literally pull it off (using a wet wipe or fingers). Dentist sent me to an oral specialist. It is not thrush or any other infection. It is probably due to "dry mouth" and poor oral hygiene. I am getting on well with Lamictal otherwise and have no other rashes - in fact my DREADFUL skin-picking disorder improved dramatically after a short while on lamictal!! I thought that habit was "only" psychological and was totally amazed a drug could actually help me 😳. Scary in a way! Mind control? Nonetheless am delighted to have recovered from skin-picking. But worried about this white stuff on my tongue. Also my mouth seems to fill up with a sort of sand-like grit shortly after eating. Don't know where that comes from? Possibly salivary glands? It is a nuisance!!

One thing that does help with keeping mouth hydrated is bioXtra gel. Mouth rinse is good too - clears the grit! I get sores in my mouth too. Blisters on the roof of mouth and bare parts of gums. Plus of course i bite my tongue (poor thing, it is getting to look like the map of Treasure Island - wavy around the edges) Hope i am not putting any of ye off ye'er dinner! 🤔
