Hi all,

I’m having a rough time getting off of weed: it’s making me realize just how much of an antidepressant it was for me, though it was also unreliable and would sometimes send me into a manic episode or a panic attack. I’m currently taking lithium, seroquel, as-needed beta blockers, and still taking lamictal while my psych and I see how my body takes the lithium. Has anyone had to significantly tweak their meds with their psych after quitting weed? This has been a bad depressive episode, and I’m looking for people who have gone through a similar experience.

Thanks for being here ❤️

Good luck with getting off weed. I think you'll find after any possible PAWS (I don't care what anyone else says, there's definitely some depression/irritability that happened when I stopped smoking weed and I think they were related) goes away you'll be a lot more stable.

I'm still in my first few months of quitting weed (and opiates) but I've been able to stop taking Seroquel except the occasional PRN dose (usually for sleep). I'm doing a trial without prazosin and with a smaller dose of cogentin too and so far so good. My risperdal and propranolol stayed the same, but I'm hoping to come off the propranolol at some point this year.

It really is a "we'll see what happens over the next year and adjust meds as necessary" situation.
