The whole reason I took sera quail was to sleep, but it stopped working. So I guess I got over the side effects.

What was your favorite toy growing up?

My bike. I rode it all over the neighborhood. Other than that, I wasn't that into traditional toys. I recall liking my Easy Bake Oven a lot. I was also a bit of a tomboy, so doing something outside was more my way. Dolls, not so much. The ones I did play with were more Barbie dolls. I never did the mothering thing. More wished I could play career-oriented adult.

Did/do you have a favorite pet? What did/do you like most about him/her?

I have 3 cats - I adore them all but my male cat Petey is my favorite because he snuggles in my lap when I'm watching TV and curls up next to me in bed. He's such a lover boy.

What was your favorite concert you went to?

I went to an Anderson .Paak concert the summer before Covid hit. It was at an outdoor venue on a hill, cut into the woods....beautiful. .Paak's music is a mix between old-school R&B & mild hip-hop. He's a very talented drummer, too. He won a Grammy this year for his song "Lockdown," which is about the BLM protests after the George Floyd killing:

Anderson .Paak - Lockdown - YouTube

Let's double that up. What was your favorite concert?

I saw Kylie Minogue July 2019 at Edinburgh Castle. Concerts in the castle are the best, the atmosphere electric. I'm not a huge Kylie fan but I went and loved every minute of it. Its open air so the summer night breeze was great after all the singing and dancing.

Question; What is your favourite film of all time? Why do you like it so much?

Sad to say it’s not the greatest film I’ve ever seen but Star Wars the 77 movie is an emotional favorite. The force, the newness, the native optimist views, the music, and being in a theater with 100’s of others all yelling at the bad guy. Yeah. Sitting in the theater from first showing till the last showing. Advengers end game was a better movie but Star Wars 77 has the emotional punch of a starry eyed youth on the cusp of freedom.

What about you? What’s your personal favorite movie?

Tough question. I think the movie that had the biggest emotional impact on me was "Life is Beautiful." It's an Italian movie written by and starring Roberto Begnini. Begnini won the Best Actor Oscar in 1997...the first foreign actor to win the award. It takes place during the 1930s in Nazi controlled Italy and, later, in a concentration camp. Believe it, or not, though, it's quite funny (when it's not tragic). Hard to explain. Begnini's character reminds me of Charlie Chaplin's style of comedy. Definitely a movie about persevering.

Mothers' Day is generally a day of great joy, sadness, or a day of little emotion. Which is it for you? Why?

I’ll find out next week. My last dr was great and he took me seriously. He left last August and I was assigned a new doctor. I just found a picture so I know it’s a guy but no idea how to pronounce any of his names and I’m nervous. But I find that ER is a problem. No matter what ER in any state they seem to be dismissive once they find out I’ve got bipolar.

Can you pronounce your doctors name?

Yes, they're all easy ones. Although when I had my achilles surgery last year my surgeon, the sweetest doctor ever, was from Africa. It took me a bit to get his name right.

Have you ever bought food from a street vendor?

I think so, in NYC. I think it was warm cashews. We have a street venue fair every year (outside of the pandemic) I would like to try to go some time. Do you ever look back from time you had serious S.I. And assess whether you would have missed anything if you chose the darker path.

No, but I'm sure I should. I have had two dentists say I should have a good one made (meaning they make), but rejected the idea. I have bought an OTC one from the pharmacy on two separate occasions, but both eventually got tossed because of lack of use. Though my face looks younger than my years, my teeth look older. An endodontist told me that I have the teeth wear of an elderly person. That was when she was doing two root canals that were clearly needed because of daytime bruxism. Yes, actually more daytime than nighttime. In any case, at the moment my bruxism is less than many times in the past. It varies according to my moods. We'll see what happens.

What is something you don't do that you think you should? What is something you do that you should?

Floss. For years I flossed daily, but for the past several years it just feels like flossing is one of the hardest things. When I do floss, I realize it's not the big of a deal and vow to do it regularly - but months go by before I floss again. Depression is stupid that way.

Something I do that I should is keeping up with dishes and laundry. I always make sure there are clean clothes and clean sheets and towels. I do manage do wash the dishes throughout the day.

Does your depression cause you to fantasize about a geographical cure - just walking away from loved ones and other responsibilities?

I tried a geographical cure in 1999 by moving to Vancouver from Ontario. My bipolar moods swing with the seasons and i thought the narrower range of seasonal change out there might help. But i didn't like it out there and didn't stay long enough to find out. I was just there for Spring which was glorious and Summer which was about like here only shorter. There are too many problems in Vancouver tho with the poverty and drugs and anxiety and people ready to go off the rails and hair-trigger tempers and lack of manners and refinement. What can you say about a city that was hacked out of the wilderness a mere 100 years ago? There was no customer service, every transaction and errand took three tries. It was Hell. Pretty, tho.

What is your decor like?

I have a nautical theme based around a painting my mother made for me. What is your favorite activity to do to cheer yourself up.

@Bipolarchic14 and all:

Unfortunately, my favorite thing to do to cheer up is eat which is why i am 5'3" and weigh 250 pounds with a BMI of 43.4. Ack! Am trying hard to diet, am in my third week and already my clothes fit looser! Am working out my demons re food on the forum mentioned in my signature.

If you do arts or crafts, what sort of things do you like to do and why?

Ta!

Jane.

Used to do a lot. But now not so much. Mainly I paint. I look online to find easy to copy paintings cause my mind is blank. I made a purple and yellow moon scape for my granddaughter. I’m working on an ugly old tree now to go with one of mum’s favorite poems.

What makes you lose track of time?

Life does in general. I get caught up in doing things so I lose track of time I set timers on my phone so I leave when I have to leave otherwise I would be late or a no show. I get worse when I'm manic as I get involved in talking to people in my flat (delusions/hallucinations) and get embroiled in talk

Question: Is there anything your looking forward to this week coming? If so what is it?

Today my husband and I are FINALLY getting our hair cut after ages. I will also get my grays covered. Also, later in the week I have a big big birthday.

At what time of the day do you usually feel hungriest?
