My depression is so bad. I’ve slept the last two days all day. It’s so so hard. My pdoc suggested Vraylar which is more than a thousand dollars a month. I can’t afford it but my pdoc doesn’t believe me because my husband has a high income. She doesn’t believe that he controls all our money. She asked for us to meet with him to get his side of the story. I told her I wasn’t wasting my precious time with her arguing with my husband. My husband said he wouldn’t go and said she can call him, which I told her. I’m pissed she thinks I’m lying about money. My husband won’t even let me do therapy. We have insurance with a 10,000 deductible and we have a lot of costs in our lives with kids. I am so pissed.

Hi @busymomof5 - I am sorry your pdoc is not facing the challenges you face. There may be other medicines that work similarly, although they probably would have different side affects.
If a pdoc said that to me, I would start to wonder if they had my best interests in mind. Most of the professionals I have dealt with have always considered cost. Have you considered getting another prescriber if they will not respect the difficulties you face? I am also surprised that your husband is being so difficult. Have you considered a therapist to help with your relationship? Not sure this applies, but it is something I ask about relationships I am in 7 Signs You Might Be Married to a Narcissist How to Survive When Quarantined with a Narcissist @CANDC

My husband is not a narcissist. We have 3 children in college, 2 in private schools and she doesn’t understand that our money goes to our family. My husband paid for ten years of therapy for me and he pays for my to see my pdoc which is more than $300 every other month on top of all my meds. He simply can’t do it anymore and I have talked to my pdoc about this. He won’t pay $1200 for a prescription and I do t want him too. It’s gd crazy that prescriptions are so expensive. My pdoc and I had a fight on mychart. I’ve cried all day about it. She doesn’t listen to me or believe me.

Have you gone to the site of the company that manufactures Vraylar? The pharmaceutical companies often offer help for people to pay for prescriptions, especially expensive ones.

The company is offering 2 free months to those who qualify. I assume we don’t. What do you do after 2 months? Just quit taking it?

Obviously not. I'm quite sure that if you want to go with Vraylar you can find financial help to do so. There are loads of prescription assistance programs if you dig around. Call your pharmacy and other pharmacies, search around online. It's there.

I got free samples for a month. That’s all I can take. I got a free two month prescription card and have checked with several local pharmacies. I’ll have to find one that takes it. Due to my husband’s income I do not qualify for help using any program. This has been checked with the nurse’s help in the past.

BethRags was just trying to help you by providing information. Perhaps your nerves are a little raw because you're feeling so poorly & are very frustrated? Sometimes it's easy to misinterpret the written word.
