@buddha1too, like BethRags and Nammu, I didn't see anything objectionable in the posts I've read of yours, lately. If there was one I didn't see, I wouldn't know.

I know cats do like to go outside, but I agree it can be dangerous. My old cat once came home with a huge rip in his belly. Even where I live now I've heard cat fights a few times. Even raccoons can be a danger to them. And of course traffic. Also, as a bird lover, I know how dangerous cats can be to them. The danger goes both ways.

I will say that back during my road trip in the US I saw a woman and man trying to walk their cat on a leash. That cat was NOT happy and made them know that. I had to laugh.

I love and "get" cats, and would have had one if my husband was more willing. Though I've loved my pet birds, dearly, cats are a better fit for me.

I've been getting tired and going to bed early in the evenings lately, and then sleeping through to between 7:30 am and as late as 8:00 am. I talked to my husband and he agreed that I should eliminate the 50 mg of Seroquel XR that I've been taking in the mornings for a while. It's too late today, but I'll try without it tomorrow. Otherwise my mood is fine.

Hubby and I feel like we're on pause lately. I think soon we should try to press the start button again. Sad to say it, but we're kind of waiting to see how his friend recovers from covid. Last night Hubby received a cryptic text from him. He'll call his friend later today to talk more.

@Soupe du jour:

Yeah, i've had the unpleasant experience of being censored here, even a PM that the recipient hadn't even object to!

@buddha1too:

What Soupe says goes for me too! If you need to vent and are worried about suitability for the general forum, feel free to PM me! I had tough times in my early thirties and hung-out with some pretty colorful characters so i'm sure i've heard it before!

Ta!

@BethRags and @Soupe du jour:

I really must try a smoothie! It will be an adventure for me! And a way to work some kale into my breakfast. I like the idea of the immersion wand blender as i have a low tolerance for washing dishes.

Thanks for the tips, ladies!

Ta!

Jane.

My Daughter is booking a flight this week to come up in June ! I have not seen her since a year ago Christmas.. We will be a sobbing mess.

To everyone struggling I hope you can find at least moments of peace and things star to improve.. Thats how I am trying to manage my messy life right now..

Loads of hugs to all

Please do be careful when those storms hit. My s-i-l came to visit us (we're all in Czech Republic). There was a windy day and she was in shock and scared of it. I thought to myself "Nothing at all compared to where I lived in the US." We do get some wild ones, don't we?

I'm sorry about your pdoc, but glad you still have your trusted therapist. It's tough to get over such losses, and they are losses. I hope the issues with your heart are taken care of well. You deserve a break from the stressors. Please give Gus a kiss when you need one, because he'll likely be happy to return it, enthusiastically.

Despite going to bed late I’m up early for me. The sun is out and making it hard to sleep. It’s very bright this morning and leaking around the shades. I got up and opened all the curtains and Sir is loving it. After many days of overcast skies this is a real treasure. According to last nights news the rain will come about 3-5 pm. But what a joy to wake up to the sun!

Just dropped my precious off at the vet (my dog) for her routine dental cleaning. She was given pre-anesthetic meds she took at bedtime and two hours before this morning and was much calmer than she usually is when being taken to the vet. I laughed because the med was trazadone, which is occasionally prescribed for human insomnia! I was glad for her, i hate to see her trembling and crying. She wouldn't take her eyes off me when i handed her over to the vet tho. We adore each other. I just had to walk away. Ack, a day without my darling! Whatever will i do without her?

Ta!

Oh, that's so hard. But the dental cleaning is a good, good thing.

btw - there are "green" smoothies that contain kale.

A triumph! I felt binge-y but i just brushed my teeth with toothpaste, flossed with unwaxed dental floss and rinsed with mouthwash and it's passed! Yay!

@BethRags: Yeah, "green smoothies" are what i was thinking of, with kale. Thanks!

I have contacted my American psychiatrist to ask if he can have a tele/video session with my husband's best friend and wife, or at least refer us to a doctor who can. Our friend's wife is extraordinarily concerned about his well-being. He seems clearly psychotic. It is clear that it is associated with covid-19, albeit a rare one. His daughters even fear for their safety and that of their mother. We also fear for his. He's paranoid and delusional and threatening extraordinarily odd behavior. He believes that there are conspiracies working against him.

Please send good vibes that our friend will get help.

Dogs are the best therapy animals, IMO. I know some here prefer cats, & Soupe likes her birds, though. I take trazadone to help me sleep...I get my prescriptions written when I get my yearly rabies vaccinations. This "dawg" bites!

@Soupe du jour...Your friend & his family are in my thoughts.

I talked to my pdoc & kind of patched things up with him. I still don't know what to do about my meds, though. He said he trusts my judgement...which doesn't really help me much, because I don't really trust my judgement. Klonopin knocks me out...I'm not sure the AP is indicated, since I don't think I'm psychotic...I'm at a loss. Has anyone here taken an AP for extreme agitation?

Thanks for the well wishes for my friend. And yes, my antipsychotic is my main agitation fighter. I take Seroquel XR. Many different APs work similarly, though some are better than others at that. Some may even worsen it for some people. I wish your doctor would have given you more advice on the phone.

I know benzos can help agitation, in many cases. If it comes to it, don't hesitate to take a bit, if your doctor prescribes it as a prn.

I've been home about an hour from my 2nd covid shot appointment. It went well. Not even any arm pain like the first time! No side effects at all! Not tired, no headache, no fever, nothing. I waited the 15 minutes after then left. Been talking with Caleb since I got home. I also got my annual recertification paperwork that's due in a month! I hate gathering the proofs for that but I DID save a copy of everything from last year so at least there's that- I can copy some of the info over. (This is for section 8. But I remember doing it last year in August or September!?)

Yes I use an AP for irritability. I was on 60 mg latuda when I was having break though symptoms and mainly rage and irritable so he increased it to 80 mg. I was on lamictal too but stopped that about 3-4 years ago due to the flatness. Man it’s had having a p-doc that says they trust your judgment when you need feedback!

There should be many people who have. I certainly have. Various AP's.

Congrats for being fully vaxxed I didn't have any side effects from the 2nd dose.

Recertification for aid of any kind is a pain in the arse. Good for you for saving the stuff from last year!

My brother checked out with no fractures. He bruised his knees which swelled and irritated his arthritis which he didn’t know he had. He got injections in both knees and should be up and around in 2-3 days. Hallelujah!

I’m sick from a few medical conditions including vertigo, weary, stressed and overwhelmed. I just want to sleep for a few days. I’m supposed to leave early in the morning and I’m nowhere near ready. I just don’t feel up to it but I can’t let my daughter down. God is truly going to need to help me in order to pull this off. I hope I can do this.

Hugs to all!
