How frustrating. Of all the many times I've had my hair professionally colored, I can't recall one in which the stylist did the color I asked for. Most of my life I've found that I can do my own color better than stylists can, especially since the availability of top-quality dyes on Amazon and Ebay. As for curly hair, they always straighten mine, which is quite curly. Obviously, they don't know how to work with curly hair. Doesn't matter whether the salon is very high-end or whether it's an average salon. __________________ |

I just looked at my meds and I've missed 2 1/2 days! What the heck!?
Watching a stand-up that's not very funny- Jim Jeffries. A friend suggested this exact one. N3 took me out for lunch today for a late mothers day. Then we walked around this little part of town with a park and he played a couple xylophone like instruments and we sang tunes to it. Gregorian chant even and a hymn! We just wandered around after that. I let him drive home. I got a shower when I got home and put on my pajamas. Only 2 hours to bed time. Maybe 3. This comedian isn't that funny. I've felt a little anxious all day. Now I'm not sure if I want to go to sleep but I would like to read my book. __________________ Wellbutrin XL 300 mg Loxapine 50mg Ingrezza 80 mg Ativan .5 mg 2x/day Propranolol 20 mg 2x/day Mania (December 2023) Mixed episode/Hypomania (September 2023) Depression, Anxiety and Intrusive thoughts (September 2021) Depression & Psychosis (July/August 2021) Mania (April/May 2019) |

It would have been my sister's 55th birthday today. It's hard to believe that she's been gone for 5 years. I still miss her.
In better news, both my kids are scheduled for their covid shots, which is a big deal here. Shots are in short supply so I'm glad they got their appointments. __________________ * Dx: Unspecified Bipolar and Related Disorder * Rx: Remeron, Prozac, Klonopin, Vraylar My avatar picture is a photo of the Whirlpool Galaxy I took in April 2023. Ah I’ve already done it at least twice, not impressed. The distress tolerance is good and I use it, but the rest is stupid to me. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the constant use of acronyms. I don’t know. All I know is my heart wouldn’t be in it so I wouldn’t be able to get anything out of it.

My sleep is all screwed up because of a benzo taper (withdrawal from an addictive anxiety med under my doctor's care) and an elevated mood due to Spring, as happens every year. I slept from 5:30pm to 12:30am so seven hours total, just at an odd time of day. It's unfortunate because i have a big order of groceries and other shopping to do at 8:00am and i wanted to be fresh from sleep so i'd have the energy.
It's 1:30am now so i have 6.5 hours to kill now before shopping. I have to shower, dress, take my dog out and have a meal but that's not gonna take all 6.5 hours. I need to rest to conserve my energy for shopping so there's very little i can do. All i can think of is knitting but my left arm can't tolerate it for long. I want to keep my senses deprived so i can tolerate shopping better as it can be quite over-stimulating. I also have a dentist appointment at 10:30am but it will likely be an easy time of it as i just have to get my night-guard fitted, so nothing traumatic. I'll have to watch my time while shopping but i'm allowing 2.5 hours to do groceries, Walmart and The Bulk Barn so i'm hoping that will be more than enough. I hope to have time to rest tho there is no where to sit as all the benches have been removed due to COVID. I guess i can sit on the floor? There are mini-benches in the shoe department at Walmart that i can take a break on, but nothing in the mall itself and it's quite a long mall, a walking club uses it, that's how long it is. I know i'll feel better when dawn comes at 5:45am but that's hours away. Ugh! |

I did have some quick shedding of my hair, at one point, from Lithium, back 7 years ago. That could have started the transition, but the bulk of hair came back. I have a big mop again, but really curly hair makes it seem bulkier. |

I used to have super curly hair as well. I heat straightened it for a very long time and now most of my curl seems to be gone. I think it's just from straightening it so often for so long. I'll have to see what happens when it grows out.

Today is the last day of my 40s. I officially turn the big 50 tomorrow, at about 11:30 am Eastern US time. Feels strange.
My husband received a text from his best friend's wife in the middle of the night last night, our time, but not since. We don't know what is happening now, but she said that my old pdoc told her that the friend needs to go to a neurologist asap and get an MRI, and that he believes the friend has brain inflammation from covid. We don't know if the friend went to the pdoc appointment or not. His wife said that if he refused, she would go with his sister without him. I hope they are at some hospital getting this taken care of. Not hearing from her since gives us hope that is so. If it is a brain inflammation, that can't wait for some future appointment in several days. I should think that any inflammation could cause long-term damage, if not addressed expediently. Though I am not sure. One would have hoped that one of his three recent ER visits would have included such a test, but that hospital failed him. They sent him home, immediately (after sometimes a 7 hour wait), just because his respiratory system was OK, saying being in the hospital would make him vulnerable to infection. And that was even after his wife said she believed he was a danger to himself, one of the times. Last edited by Soupe du jour; May 11, 2021 at 07:06 AM.. |

My hair has changed so much over my lifetime. It started out straight, with my 2nd pregnancy it got all curly. I am sure that peri-meno can change hair texture. __________________ |

I'm so sorry about your sister. I lost one of my sisters 3 1/2 years ago. It just feels so wrong. Good news on the vaccinations, though. __________________ |

How horrifying. I hope he is able to see a neurologist ASAP. His poor wife must be terrified. __________________ |

I've had a migraine headache for 8 days. Last night the pain kept awakening me. The headache got so severe, and wouldn't respond to otc medication, that at 5 a.m. I considered going to the ER. I fell back to sleep, but did call my GP's office this morning. I have an appointment with her at 4 p.m. I hope to the Universe she prescribes something. I feel like I can't keep going with the pain, plus I'm concerned...hoping it's not blood pressure related or something similar.
Besides that, I can't get the images of all the hours of burned mountains we drove through on Sunday. Strange...I think it's terribly unhealthy...instead of the extra oxygen people get from trees and greenery, there's just the toxic, scorched land. And thinking of all the animals that were killed is sickening. 95 degrees today, which means locked in with a/c and fans blowing. Too hot, too soon. I'm full of complaints, haha. __________________ |
