Has anyone with bipolar have any luck with TMS? I don’t want to do it. I feel like my dr has gotten to the point where we say everything is in my head. But since I am coming off most of my meds I feel like having TMS to support that might be a good idea. It is just the schedule is ridiculous. Five days a week for 6 weeks. It will talk me about 2 hours everyday for travel and treatment. Looking at my work week I don’t know how it will work out. I know I can work with my boss but I don’t know what to say without giving too much detail. Doing this while teleworking might work out. But they have another center 5 minutes from work so that might be even better.

Bottom line - TMS worth it?

I haven't tried TMS, because I opted in favor of ECT instead. Both are intensive treatments, but ECT is likely to be more effective, although with a somewhat higher chance of side effects (memory loss, mainly). What alternatives are you considering? Is it TMS or nothing?

I have done ECT and never again. Memory issues were really bad. I have tried Ketamine and that wasn’t too bad but I can’t do it anymore because I am on lamictal. So TMS is the only option left right now.

Well I guess I am starting in two weeks. I am not sure how I feel about it.
