Hi all,

I am trying to re-animate the Overeating/Binge-Eating forum and since many of us struggle with dysfunction excess eating on this forum i thought i would extend the invitation to join us here.

Ta!

Jane.

Hi Jane. Perhaps I'll check that out. My understanding is that one need not have an eating disorder to join that forum's conversations. It's just a shame that many won't see it because it's in the Eating Disorder section. I don't have an eating disorder, but I am certainly one of the many many people here that should watch my food consumption. My diet does need to be modified to address my high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and other related concerns. I think that perhaps some of those issues are a bit related to my genes, a little because of my excessive weight, some related to mood issues, and a little more because of the many psych meds I've been taking for 14 years now.

If the moderators would prefer only those with eating disorders to participate there, then I would sadly not be able to contribute.

If the thread is on the wrong board, contact a mod and explain why it should be moved to the appropriate board. Although if "binge eating" is in the title, that's considered an eating disorder, I think.

This thread inspired me to look around a little harder. I suppose for people like me I now see a sub forum on Exercise & Weight Loss under the Health Support section. That would be a better fit for cases like mine. I would definitely not want a sub forum moved that would be very helpfully focused for people with more significant eating issues.

What about starting a new thread on the Health board?

@Soupe du jour and all:

Sad that you won't be joining us on the Overeating/Binge-Eating forum but i see your point that the Exercise and Weight-Loss forum is more suitable for you.

@BethRags and all:

I see your point about the Overeating/Binge-Eating being an Eating Disorders forum that won't be suitable for some with more benign problems with excess weight. I'll work on my signature invitation to be more specific.

Ta!

Jane.

Yes, it's very clear - and what a smart idea!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
