I hope your horse wins.

Today is a national holiday in some countries in Europe, and certain countries in other parts of the world. It is "May Day" (May 1), which is a celebration of the spring season, and also labor day. Normally there are festivities, but not this year because of covid. Many shops that are usually open are closed, though, for the holiday.

My favorite part is when the race horses walk with their buddy horses who keep them calm.

I’ve lived in Kentucky all my life and I live not too far from Louisville where the derby is held! I went to a derby party and drew a name from the pot but my horse was very last haha derby parties are huge where u live since it’s so expensive to go to derby. Unless you wanna go to the infield but it’s crazy there! Lol

We even have mock races on homemade stick horses in elementary school-that’s how much it means here. Bob bAffert trained the winner-he has won 7 times!!!!!

Talk derby to me!

@HALLIEBETH87: Just seeing this now. Did you have a good time? Sounds like a great party! I liked reading about the "buddy horses" @unaluna. So sweet! And Popsicle horses! A sure winner! Haha! I love sunhats myself. I got written up in "The Vancouver Sun" newspaper for wearing one that was "as big as a manhole cover"! I measured; it was NOT! Hope you enjoyed your Mint Julep! Never had one... Are they good?
