I'm reading a book called "Love Wins" by Rob Bell. It's a New York Times Bestseller.

It's a religious book but one that turns conventional thoughts on their ear.

This blurb made me think of us.

"Jesus called disciples- students of life- to learn from him how to live in God's world God's way. Constantly learning and growing and evolving and absorbing. Tomorrow is never simply a repeat of today."

Some of us here were talking recently about every day being the same. I've found myself doing the same familiar things- a creature of habit. I don't feel that I have much of an ikigai- your purpose, reason for being, a reason to get up in the morning. (Rob Bell also talks about your ikigai.)

Interesting that Rob Bell then says that "Tomorrow is never simply a repeat of today."

I think it is a cool sentiment, but I would change it to "Tomorrow never has to be simply a repeat of today". There is a lot of truth in the statement as is, especially since logically, each day is it chronicled to be unique. Each passing second is unique, if we wanna really break it down.. but behaviors run in cycles. What I do today may be exactly a repeat of the day before. A cycle of emotion/behavior doesn't follow time restrictions. If I spend on day in bed, mourning -- a different day is not a different outcome.

I'm not trying to split hairs here -- but I think phrasing it like I did shows the ability to redefine each day to be something more than the previous. Perhaps same routine, same cycle, same issues -- but maybe the next day makes the next a little easier..

Just food for thought. Feel free to disagree.
