My sleep schedule is way wonky. I go to sleep around 10 just fine. I didn't wake up until a good while later-I assume- but it was still dark out so I went back to sleep not knowing what time it was. Next thing I know, I wake up and it's like quarter to 2:00 PM!

I've just got to get my body on a better schedule. I go to sleep at a reasonable hour so what gives? I just sleep through alarms. The only thing that will wake me up is when the phone rings. Texts don't do it and neither do any of the other noises my phone could make.

Do you think medication is causing you to need extra sleep? Or exhaustion from all the energy it takes to function with a mental illness? I know my own mental overactivity causes me to need so much sleep.

It could be the over-thinking! You're right. I ruminate. It's not good. Could be the meds, too. I did get my haldol raised only 3 weeks ago or so and I've been tired in that time frame. hmmm...

They take some getting used to and consistent use to get the full benefits.

I think you can change the alarm sound to be the same as your ringer. It might take some effort but I think it's possible.

I have a chronic illness that interferes with sleep… sleep deprivation not helping me either.
