Has anyone heard of this? When I was in the hospital a month or more back the doc said some people with schizophrenia/psychosis get PTSD from severe psychotic episodes and she added later that my episode and things that happened during it that I don't remember were "extremely traumatizing."
I thought I was fine but sometimes I get panic attacks now (especially relating to being lost and accidentally wandering on other people's property or winding up in places I'm not supposed to be and being killed for trespassing or looking deer-like) which I haven't had in years and I've been having nightmares related to things I thought happened (when I sleep more than two hours anyways). I've been extra jumpy too and disordered eating has turned into an actual eating disorder. I don't really have a therapist to discuss this/work on this with and my pnurse kinda sucks (don't they all?). I also recently stopped taking propranolol so maybe that's to blame Has anyone had something similar happen after a bad psychosis? __________________ [Insert thought-provoking and comedic quote here] |

Absolutely yes. It all piles up until it becomes PTSD.

My therapist told me something interesting when we first met. You can have trauma and not have PTSD. I told her I should technically have PTSD from the stuff I went through as a teenager. And she told me that and it really made sense to me.
I’m not saying your situation is like that though. But I never knew that until she told me. __________________ I'm Blue |

Yes unfortunately. I wish I had actual useable advice other than to journal and try to dump that stuff out of you're head. Mostly work on being kind to yourself.
