I'm going to take " I wish I didn't have Bipolar " off the table right away.
I'm curious what people would change? Something Bipolar wise or just a life change? I'll go first... Life change for me ....I really wish I wasn't so tuned into people emotions. It's not that I don't enjoy helping others but it can just wear my energy down. Funny note that its not fellow Bipolar people that suck my energy its Neuro Typicals. I am not sure 100% why?? It's a mystery. You ??? __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

I would take away anxiety- especially with paranoia. That is the worst.

I’d like to be one of those people that lays down and falls asleep and sleeps all night. And while we’re at it throw in naps, I hear naps are good.

I would try to be more tolerant of other people and not write them off for perceived slights. I am largely not a forgiving person, unfortunately. Perhaps it's why I prefer to be alone. Especially when said people refuse to consider their actions or how they affect others.

hot liquids tend to be soothing for me -- hot chocolate, hot tea. Something like that. Good time of year to indulge in that kind of thing too. __________________ |

Anxiety I made one of those 10,000 plus posts about anxiety quite recently. I hate it. I also am too tuned in to others emotions, which also feeds my anxiety at times and also is tiring. I hate showers so that isn't a solution for me (it hurts my sensitive skin, especially hot showers) I do find chocolate soothing, and warm fuzzy things (like a soft dressing gown or a teddy bear) Hot liquids, hot chocolate or hot tea, I second that (coffee isn't soothing for me)

I always feel better after I've exercised. I just can't usually make myself do it. It's a cognitive dissonance issue. Today I walked for an hour and feel like I could go to sleep were it not 6 p.m. 😆

I've been trying lately to not let my feelings/emotions take the lead by reminding myself it's just a feeling it can't hurt me and it won't last forever. Practice sitting with the discomfort. When it gets really bad I have a system where I'll put on my "Mozart for Meditation" CD (or whatever calming music I want), light a scented candle, turn the lights off, and wrap myself in a blanket burrito (just gotta remember to blow out the candle before falling asleep!) Sometimes journaling in a stream of consciousness way helps too.

I'm so sorry you're having such anxiety, Christina. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make your anxiety go away. As for "tools" - I wish I could help with ideas. The only thing that helps me somewhat with anxiety (besides meds) is to use breathing practices. There are so many, but the one that helps me most is to take a great, big deep belly breath, hold it for a few seconds, then slowly let it out. 2 or 3 times of that usually calms me. And it's important to have your body relaxed (shoulders down, etc) when you do the breathing.

I wish I was an extrovert. I think my life would be so different than it is now and probably better. I am a very introverted woman and have social anxiety. Throw that on top of having bipolar 1 and ADHD (inattentive type) and you can see how fun my life is (sarcasm)
