Anyone have good luck with that?
I get my results back the 28th.
Nearly had a panic attack just trying these latuda samples in the mean time, that my pdoc gave me.
Depression and anxiety is really getting the best of me lately.

Hey there Krova!
I did the Genesight testing last year and I found it quite helpful.I don't know if your doctor explained to you what kind of information if will give or not -- but their website has a sample to show you what it looks like. They categorize things into three columns per drug type -- a green column (use as directed), yellow (look at considerations listed for these drugs), and red (best to avoid if possible). The test can show if you have genetic markers, enzyme variations, etc,. that should be taken into consideration about taking a medicine and what dosage is appropriate. I think it is important to note that in general (some exceptions) the test cannot predict side effects from a medicine. So even if it's in your green column, you may still have too many problems with side effects to take it or are allergic.

So, in my case, I found it validating when I saw all the SSRIs I had tried in the past in the yellow column with the note that my genotype may impact drug mechanism of action and result in moderately reduced efficacy AND that my blood serums levels would probably run high on the drug, meaning a lower dose would be needed. Which explains why maybe they didn't do a thing for me, except perhaps some side effects from a few.

In general -- the test is really good about helping with finding a new medicine, and finding the right dose. It's not a magic test that is gonna take out the trial-and-error but it does make that job a lot easier on your doctor. It's as complicated or simple as you want it to be when reading your results.

I hope you find some medicine that helps you! How is the Latuda doing so far?

Tonight will be my day 7 dosage. So I'm still pretty early in. It's helped tone down things a bit. However I'm only on 20mg and I try to eat with it when I do take it. Only noticeable side effect is that it does make my already restless legs way worse. Maybe it is a mild form of akathesia?.

I see my pdoc on the 28th of this month as that is when the genesight test results come back. The way I felt before latuda was horrific and I feel better this week then I did last week but I'm still feeling pretty depressed and of course insomnia.

Only medicine I'm on is 20mg latuda, clonazepam 0.5mg at night. I still do consume marijuana however not daily anymore. I have the problems with or without it so I haven't dropped that.

I have no financial stability right now so it's tying into me feeling the way I do. It's the down time of the year for me. Struck between mental stability and financial stability. Been in therapy twice a week as I'm in a crisis.
