I' m new to this Bipolar world I now live in. I have found that I lack hunger due to the constant changing emotions. Almost to the point of puking. Anyone experience the same thing. Any help or suggestions would be amazing. Thanks!

Yeah I have this. I can't feel the diffrence between hunger and anxiety. So I think I'm just anxious all the time when I probably just need to eat. I've been losing weight and I barely even leave my house most days. So I'm not moving around much. I'm worried about what will happen when I return to work and really can't eat whenever I want to and am moving around all the time.

Welcome @mellymoo88 !!! Im sorry you're struggling
![]() I am struggling with a lack of appetite too but I think its due to one of my new meds (Bupropion/Wellbutrin). Prior to that I had a huge appetite but again, I think that was my meds (Pregabalin/Lyrica). Could it be anxiety related like others have mentioned? Or could it be medication? (You don't have to answer those questions, it's just to get you to think about it). |

Quote:
I have experienced appetite issues off and on that were clearly part of my bipolar disorder experience. Even separate (and before) taking any bipolar medications. I can't even firmly link episode types (depression, hypomanic/manic, mixed) to either lack of appetite or excess one. It has been unique to episode, but not all episodes had notable appetite issues. I remember a few times (even in late childhood) feeling relatively fine when I didn't eat, but then the thought or pressure to eat made me nauseous. My mother even took me to the doctor at one point. Mood issues were blamed. It wasn't an eating disorder, in my case. That was ruled out, justifiably, as I've never had any significant issues relating to weight or appearance. Not sure if this example is relatable.
