Do you know your early signs of psychosis?

I remember asking my pdoc last year and he said when I start feeling paranoid and suspicious of people it could be early signs of psychosis.

I'm convinced that an Assistant Principal (I'm a teacher) at my work is out to get me to fail and is intentionally sabotaging my career ... I've come to this conclusion since last week Friday

I don't know if it's just because I'm so depressed that he's plotting against me or if it's because I'm so depressed that I think he's plotting against me but isn't.

Omggggg this whole post doesn't make sense.

I think paranoia, like you describe, is indeed a first sign. I can relate to your seemingly unreasonable suspicions. I had nearly the same about workmates at my old job, when very sick. Thinking, in general, becomes more and more disturbed and/or dysfunctional. For me, disinhibition and impulsivity can go from manic without psychosis to manic with. The psychosis seems to bring behavior that is even more irrational.

With psychosis, my speech is also often affected. Mild "word salad", disjointed thinking, repetitions, sometimes stuttering, and/or making odd noises or singing.

You described me to a T two years ago when I was utterly manic!

Im sorry Ive never experienced psychosis but I just wanted to send you some hugs and positive thoughts

I think learning about the very early signs of an episode is so important.
I have learned that the first thing to go when I become unwell with my mental health is my sleep. I start sleeping too much or too little.
