I’m tired of the depression.
I’ve been on them for about 10 days now. |

Unfortunately they can take up to 3-4 weeks to kick in. Sometimes they work sooner than that though. Sorry you're struggling, sending hugs

Which AD are you on, and at what dose? I'm not a medical person, but I may have some suggestions based on my own experience only.

Hmmm. The dose is high, it's fine. I can tell you that for me, Cymbalta kicked in by the 4th day. I felt really great for 3 days, then settled into an okay place. My pdocs, of which I've had many, have always said "Give it 2 weeks." Did your med provider give you a time frame?

I had a leftover script from a gp. I see my psychiatrist on Wednesday next week and will tell him I started them again. I hope he doesn’t give me a lecture for starting them before seeing him again. I stopped them in January. Worst decision ever to stop the AD.

I hope he doesn't lecture you, too. When they do that it shows such a lack of empathy. How's it going - do you feel less depressed? __________________ |

CrazyHitch sorry to hear you are feeling down. Hope you and the doc work things out.
Not sure if this is universal, but for me Mondays are a rough day. Getting through that is a major accomplishment. Even though I eat healthy and do a couple exercise classes, Mondays still pose a challenge to me. But the exercise classes and good food do help me in the long run as by Tuesday I am feeling a bit better. I think I am reading too much news. There are many real downers in what is happening in the world right now. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Thanks CANDC. Yeah I hope my psychiatrist can sort out something for me tomorrow I really do. I wake up at 2am and can't get back to sleep. It's awful. Monday's are an accomplishment and I've gotten through that. Yay! But I'm dreading this Tuesday. Every day feels like this. I want to crawl up iinto a ball and lie in bed.

So how did it go? Was he upset that you started the cymbalta without him?
One strong suggestion I would make is to ask for a Genesight test. It tells you what psychotropic drugs are most likely to be effective based on your genetic markers. I've literally tried over a dozen different antidepressants and I was not at all surprised to see that all of them were not on the list of meds most likely to be most effective. In fact, there are only three in that column and I've already failed one of those. My prescribing nurse has decided to put me on Latuda, an antipsychotic that's supposed to help with major depressive disorder. It's too soon to tell. The only truly effective treatment for my severe depression is ketamine infusions. __________________ You're only given one little spark of madness. Appointment went well. He's upped my seroquel to 100mg at night because I'm not sleeping and he's started me on Effexor.
Here's hoping! |

@Crazy Hitch I use the body scan exercise to go back to sleep. Start at feet and spend 15-30 seconds being aware of each part or use this recorded body scan Body Scan (20 min)
