Well today is day 2 of not drinking alcohol. I had a NA beer with dinner it tasted great. It is the partake beers from Canada.
so glad total wine and more carries them again.
I think I am going to the gym to try to walk on the tread mill. If I make a mile it will be a blessing. Had my knees exrayed today.
That came back good no broken bones or knee caps. and md wanted me to start using
mobic for pain. It is a non-steroidal noninflammatory( NSAID) commonly used for arthritis. She wants me to use a knee brace
for support. I talked to the nurse about having a cat scan and she called back and ordered an MRI...just have to wait for
authorization from my insurance. She pulled the big guns out which surprised me.

The MRI is scheduled on the 20th at 4;30 pm, as long as the insurance company approves it that is. It will take 1 hour total for both knees.
I have lost a few pounds already(water weight) Still nice to see the scale go down. I feel like I just was saying this a few months ago. I am like a yo yo. up down never maintaining.
Same with the drinking alcohol, today makes 5 days.
Thank goodness for these partake NA beers.
Is it ok to be dependent on them?
Thanks for your support @*Beth*
I am taking mobic for pain.
Think once the mris are done and we have the results we can go from there and tell the PT what we have discovered....if anything.
I did not like the 2 different braces that I tried on.
blah blah blah

It was easier getting up out of bed today.
jeff gets up around 7 am to walk and

run a bit for 4 miles feeding snacks

to cats in the neighborhood.

I think I got up around 9;30am.

We went to hub city diner for breakfast like usual.
I had my BELT bacon lettuce and tomato

with and an egg. on rye bread not toasted.
It is my favorite breakfast, I skipped the side
of hash brown that normally comes with it.

very satisfying. the breakfast came out in

lightening speed. so we were back from the
diner by 11am. when we would normally

have just gotten going at that time.
I did not have any coffee this morning and on to my 2nd
cup, take my vitamins and brush my teeth.
normal morning things.
Doing laundry is a sunday task as I am out of uniforms.
Hoping that your pain/anguish/anxiety, lonely feelings subside a bit today.

How kind of Jeff to give the kits snacks. I'm doing laundry today, too. I thought the laundry room would be empty because it's 102 degrees today. Was I wrong - the laundry room is full.

I am so sorry that it is that hot. the laundry room is probably unbearable.
Tell me again about your air conditioner and fans are they keeping you cool enough to sleep?

Thank you, bizi. All sympathy accepted

I have a decent window a/c. The kitchen is cold, the living room is pleasant. The bedroom is warm, the bathroom is quite warm. I have a tall rotating fan going in the living room and a round rotating fan sitting on a chair in the bedroom.

At night I leave the front windows (kitchen, living room) open a few inches (with window security thingies holding them) and the tall fan running. I sleep with my bedroom window wide open (no one could break in without a very tall ladder) and the fan on the chair pointed at my bed. The bathroom window, also wide open. The bedroom is warm, but it cools overnight.

If the temperature goes over 105 during the day I may need to keep the a/c on overnight.

So there's my surviving the heat details! I sure wish I had ceiling fans like you do.

UGH!!!! @*Beth*
I don't know how you can stand the heat. you are dealing with it very well I have to tell you that.WE have central A/C and our house is about 74 degrees all summer. Our electric bill is high I don't care. I still get hot flashes. so that sucks.most all of the homes that I go to have the air on some are hot. they forget to turn the air on they are usually cold natured. So sometimes it will be a sauna in their apartments. I politely ask them if We could turn on a fan or adjust the thermostat. most say yes.
Keep calm and as cool as possible at night, did you mention bamboo nite clothes, I hear that the sheets do the same thing.

I count tuesday as day one of not drinking that is the 5th. today I continue to not drink and alcohol. so that makes a week.
I have substitute with my partake AF beers that are low in calorie and I like them.I made a rule, no more drinking after 9pm.
Don't want to get up all night. I drank 64 ozs of water today. and a can of diet stevia/zevia. Then tonight I had 4 partakes.
For some odd reason they make me a bit congested. I will take my meds tonight with little water. the cogentin almost always
get hung up in my throat, it is the most bitter pill that I take.I have had quite a lot of sodium the last 2 days,
my fingers look so puffy. I am afraid to get on the scale tomorrow. I am stuck at 4 pounds lost in 2 weeks.
Thought for sure that the none drinking would lose the weight quicker. maybe the AF ones are interfering???

Hi, bizi. You've been trying to stop drinking for years now, but haven't been able to crack more than 5 months, if I remember correctly. Are you sure non-alcoholic beers are a good choice to help you stop drinking? Just asking. I'm a recovering alcoholic & find other non-alcoholic choices (fruit juices, flavored ice teas, etc.) help me stay stopped. That's just me, though. I hope you find something that works for you.

Thanks for your concern. The partakes are delicious with few calories. I am trying to diet as well.
I finally broke 189.9 this morning so what I am doing is working.
When I drink I gain weight, when I don't I lose weight. I yo yo with my weight
I am sick of myself. So when a regular beer that I like has 200 calories, you can see how that adds up and I was drinking everyday. sometimes in the middle of the day too. so I will take a 10 calorie na beer now and be satisfied.

So I knew it was time to quit. I am drinking 4-6 a day. That probably totals 50-80 calories a day. I am happy with this exchange. I keep trying.
If I give up I will be over 200 pounds again. I am also trying to drink more water. I shoot for 64 ozs, which is easy to do in the heat.

Yes, my bamboo sheets and blanket are amazing for the warm weather. The fabric stays cool, yet it's comfortable.

Yeah I'm safe. Feeling a bit sick today (tummy). I do have a few benzos left, I prefer not to contact the provider as they could easily take the benzos away and force some other med I'm allergic to on to me. I could be wrong, but I've had so many (literally) appalling, scary bad experiences with different ones...the more I say (which isn't much) the worse things get. Ugh

fuzzy don't go cold turkey off the benzo. It can cause seizures from what I hear.
Please call and ask for more. Just my opinion.

I'm definitely not on ''no alcohol'' right now.

I only have some with supper/dinner at night though.

Although it's very tempting sometimes to have some later on....

Lager tonight.

And avocados

We love avocados but have had too many rotten ones
that we stopped buying them.
I cut off my liquid intake after 8-9 to see

if I don't get up every hour or two to pee.
I got up 4 times last night.I was able to

get up when I wanted to get up because

my 10;30 appointment canceled on me

and I did not fill it with another client.

good night all I will sleep in again.
last night I could not get to sleep so I took some prns 10mg of zyprexa with requip to ward off restless legs. it did not do that at all I was constantly moving thought I would wake up jeff. So I moved to the other bed room and took some more requip and was able to go to sleep at 4am

bizi
I hope I can get to sleep tonight jeff is away so I am roughing it. I ate 3 beer brats for dinner, not the best choice but they were good with

brown mustard. no bread total of 9 carbs which is good.
not very nutritious. for lunch I ate a ham and cheese sandwich
with brown mustard. It was daves lower calorie killer bread....Have not had any bread at the house in so long. I am going to pick up a girl friend who injured her ankle and is hobbling around on her boot that she is not supposed to wear for more than an hour each day. That doesn't make sense to me.I told her she could ice it up to help reduce the pain.
She is supposed to have neck surgery on august 5th. I don't think they will operate with the wounded foot. I told her this to encourage her to tell the surgeon before hand. She agreed.
any way.
blah blah blah
12 night not drinking.
weight is 189.9 again this morning.

now I am really going to get ready for bed.
