Thursday I somehow scratched my eye. No big deal it’s happened before. Barely able to see. Friday it got worse. The pain was just awful. I went to a walk in clinic still thinking it was just scratch. They had me go to eye doctor immediately. I have a corneal ulcer!!! and he put me on broad based heavy antibiotic drops.

He gave me his cell number to call him anytime. I called Saturday in a panic , he said the antibiotic can actually make vision a bit worse. He offered to meet me at his office anytime.

(((Saturday when I got up I can only l
See light and dark. The pain is still brutal. Today I “might” see light and dark a tiny bit better ?!?! ))))

I’m seeing the doctor 8 am tomorrow and he will decide if I need to go to Nashville to see a corneal specialist immediately.

I’m Terrified of losing my vision.

I doubt I’ll be able to come back and read so if I don’t reply it’s because I am struggle to see with my good eye. This has taken about 20 mins to type. But I really need some support.

Any thoughts or prayers I would be so grateful. Thank you so much

2 days ago I mentioned that you have a corneal ulcer on the check-in thread so you're already getting love and prayers sent to you. I am continuing to send them. I hope you are able to check in tomorrow because I will be waiting to find out what's happening.

Sending hugs and healing thoughts to you, Christina! I'm so sorry this happened to you. If of any comfort, my husband has some major eye issues (different than yours) since his youth and has found great doctors that have made a difference for him. I'm sure this severe effect will be temporary.

I left a message for you on Fb, I understand you probably can't read online, but don't know how else to find out how you're doing? I'm very concerned.

Here’s what I sent to Amanda and it took over 20 mins to type . Ugh .

Dr Sands is happy that it isn’t getting worse. There’s still a large hazy area which I see him again on Friday and he hopes to start me on a steroid eye drops to see how well everything can continue to heal and hopefully with as little scaring as possible, I’ll probable . Lose of bit vision )but Very relieved! Thank God I didn’t need to go see a corneal specialist As is my eyes are so sensitive to light I can barely see to open them.

Thank ALL of you for the prayers and good thoughts.

I’ll try to come back later tonight when it’s dark to reply .

You guys are the best.

Sending lots of love your way, Christina. I had shingles of the eye in 2003 and know the fear of losing vision. I made a full recovery and hope the same for you. It's a terrible ordeal you are going thru but hopefully you will come out the other side healthy and intact, as i did.

Thanks everyone !

I’m still in terrible pain ! But no need for a corneal specialist at this point.

I see the Doctor on Friday. Starting Steroid drops at that point. No idea how long til fully healed.

I can open my eye for a few seconds at a time so that is a plus.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hugs and love to you all !

Saw my Doctor again today. He’s concerned I have a bit of “ rough” area on my cornea. Time to start steroid drops along with antibiotics still and recheck Friday or contact him on his cell anytime.

He is still wondering why I had such a bad infection to cause an ulcer like I had. We will probably never know what caused it. Which worries me because what if it happens again??

I’m still in quite a bit of pain and I swear I’m a Gremlin LOL because I’m in agony if I’m am near sunlight or any lights to be honest.

Thank you all for the continuing support.

Hope everyone has a great weekend !

Christina, you are in my thoughts, and in my prayers, many times every day.

No trauma that she knows of @bizi. She just thought she scratched her eye.
