I am looking into doing the Ketamine infusions and I was wondering if anyone here with bipolar or depression ever had a Ketamine treatment? How or did it help you what were the drawbacks if any? Are you still using it for treatment?
Thanks.

I have not tried ketamine, but I thought that in the US it was only approved for depression and not bipolar. I know people with bipolar who wanted to try it, but weren't allowed. Might be an insurance issue though. I don't think Medicare covers it for people with bipolar.

As of now most insurances around here do not cover it. Yeah I am still grieving the loss of my wife last November and her birthday is coming up.

I once went through an online questionnaire put up by a company offering it and was denied because I have bipolar, not depression.

It was not an insurance issue, but simply for bipolar it is not approved and I believe there is a risk of mania following such infusions.
