I have to say Snickers. Love me a Snickers.

What kind of coping skills do you have for hard times?

Not very good ones. I guess listening to music.

Would you rather be rich and sad or poor and happy

Definitely poor and happy.

How have you been doing with hygiene (or other physical maintenance) stuff lately?

I shower every second day. Can’t manage every single day but I get dressed every day and look well groomed apart from the ridiculous weight gain from meds.

Are you at your ideal weight?

Not really. Meds played a big part in my weight gain too. Plenty of stuff I want to do, but need to lose weight to make that realistically happen.

Anyway...

When was the last time you cruised around somewhere with no particular place to go?

We usually do fondue dessert on Valentine's. Not sure if we are this year; I haven't talked to my mom about it.

Do you crave foods when you are depressed? Or do you lose your appetite?

Fondue sounds yummy! Gosh it's been a long time since I had it. As for craving foods when depressed, an absolute yes. Depression tends to cause me to eat more than I should, and mostly sweets. I often gain weight when depressed. When stable, I eat more moderately. When hypomanic/manic, I eat less than usual.

What do you crave most for snacks? For example, salty stuff, sweets, dairy, etc.

I tend to alternate between sweet and salty. Sometimes it's savoury - crackers and cheese in my fridge, or sometimes it's Lindt chocolate balls. All depends on what type of mood I was in when I did my weekly shopping on Saturday.

How many hours sleep do you get, on average, per night?

My average seems to be 6 hours. But I stay in bed 8-9 hours so my back gets rested. I’d like a whole lot more though.

Do you watch game shows or play games on your phone?

I’m more likely to play games on my phone like Wordle than watch a game.

Do you own pets?

Not at this time. Sadly, my last pet died way too young, a few years ago. He was a Hahn's macaw (parrot). I would love to adopt a new pet after our move to our new house. I've been thinking about a cat (I had one for years as a kid through 19 years old). My husband still leans towards parrots. Of course I love parrots, but the loss of our last one was very hard on me. Also, I think a cat is a better choice for me as parrots can be so demanding.

Cat, dog, bird, reptile, hampster/gerbil/guinea pig, or other "person"?

Cat or dog. I had a great dog growing up and she spoiled me for any other dogs. She was so smart and trainable. I did adopt a cocker spaniel when I was 19 but he had too much energy for my always being at work, school or just out. So I gave him to a family with a stay at home wife. He really needed that. Cats I’ve had a couple. Just one at a time. I am on SSDI and worry about vet bills, so limit myself.

How about you? If money was no object what pets would you have?

If money was no object I'd still stick to my dogs and cats because I love them. Sadly my cat passed away last year. So now I have 3 dogs.

If you could meet one celebrity, alive or dead, who would you most like to meet?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She’d be really cool to talk to.

Same question.

I'd like to sit down and have a conversation with Joaquin Phoenix. For some reason I feel like we'd have a lot to talk about.

Same question...

I'm going to run a 12-step meeting and play a little on my ukulele.

What does President's Day mean to you?
