Nothing at all. I think it should be eliminated so that a national holiday (and day off) could be made out of Election Day. Many people can't vote because it's on a stupid Tuesday and they don't get the day off or have trouble voting before or after work. I'd also propose a rule that if a person doesn't vote on my proposed holiday, that they don't get the day off. This proposal isn't jumped on because the current situation results in voter suppression, which one party likes. As for recognizing presidents, some were good and some not. They are/were not gods of any sort and most ended up very well enriched afterwards. One could appreciate the good ones without a holiday. Pretty much no one thinks about them on that day, anyway. Best things about that holiday are the mattress and car sales offered under its guise.

What do you like most about spring?

It's a bit of a "Goldilocks time" for me weather wise. Generally, it's not too hot, not too cold. Just right.

When did you last treat yourself to something? Night out, fancy dinner, trip to the movies, that sort of thing?

About two weeks ago I took myself out for a cooked meal. I had a 20% off coupon.

Oh, a question! Hmmm…..

What song do you like to dance to?

What was I up to this weekend? Mostly cleaning the house. What did I get up to? The morning light shinining through the window always woke me up. I'm just like a bird. No need for an alarm on most days.

What time do you usually wake up in the morning? Or rather, what time do you get out of bed for the day, in the morning?

I’ve got huge issues with sleep at the moment. So it’s 3am for me. I’m not working today and I’m still up at 3am unfortunately …..

Are you looking forward to summer if you live in the northern hemisphere or winter if you live in the southern?

Ooo so looking forward to spring and summer. This week is all about more snow. Significant snow is coming Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The rest of the week is flurries. So…

Do you eat breakfast within an hour of waking up?

Yes, sometimes even 30 minutes. I'm quite hungry when I wake up, though when I start eating I get full quickly. The cup of coffee is part of what satiates me. My husband makes fun of my "traveling yogurt" or "traveling banana" because I put one on for myself, but they usually go back to where I found them. Ideally I should eat an hour later, because I need to take Synthroid. I don't always remember to take it as soon as I get up. It's hard to "wait" the 45/60 mins I'm supposed to (after Synthroid) before eating.

What was the most beautiful place you've ever seen?

I do not eat breakfast within 2 hours of waking but I have at least 2 cups of coffee …. I’m addicted especially on mornings I do not sleep.

What’s 1 thing you feel you accomplished today no matter how small?

I got dressed. Really didn’t need to, cause I’m not going anywhere but I got dressed anyway.

What makes you saddest about being bipolar?

What makes me saddest about being bipolar...well, I'm sad because, probably for the rest of my life, I have to be on medication that causes health problems. That said, I'm saddest about not being able to remain in a permanent hypomanic state. Being hypo feels extraordinary - until, of course, it turns crazy.

Q: Do you know that Daylight Saving Time is only twenty days from today?

No, I really don't. Unless you count the water contained in Coke Zero, and then I drink way too much.

Do you have a hobby or something that brings you joy? What is it?

Playing paino/guitar/starting harmonica. Music in general. And writing. Been doing lots of that lately.

Do you drink coffee? If so, how do you take it?

I drink heaps of coffee. Love it. No sugar just milk. I like it strong but not too strong.

What’s the last thing you ate?

I made myself hot bulgur wheat cereal stewed in milk, with dried apricot, blueberries, dot of butter, maple syrup and toasted walnuts. Delicious! I boiled the bulgur last night and used half for the cereal this morning. The leftover plain bulgur is for tabbouleh, which I'll make later.

What is your absolute favorite breakfast?

I don’t normally eat breakfast but if I had to it would be Nutella pancakes …. Yummy

If you had to eat one food every day of your life, what would that be ?

Eggs. Plenty of ways to prepare them!

Star Trek or Star Wars?
