It did, with the wind and snow only really lasting a day here. The temperatures are still around 0F now. I think the lowest temp was -10F.

Do you now or have you ever had a wood burning stove?

Yes and it's saved our pipes from freezing a million times including last night/this morning.

Do you exercise and how?

More past tense at the moment. I used to do a lot of hiking. A couple miles here, a couple miles there, with an 8-10 mile hike if I had a whole day to kill. My health issues have put a stop to that for right now.

What is the first book you read that was 50 pages or more that you enjoyed?

I can't remember. I can't even remember context for that tim. I read early and I read a lot, I do know that. But I don't remember details.

Do you eat a certain food at New Year's?

Yes, and it comes from a Czech tradition. I named it "Lentils Herbs and Ham with an Egg Hat". It's basically a cooked lentil mixture using broth, herbs, veggies (i.e. onion and peppers), and smoked ham bits topped with a sunny-side up egg and more fresh herbs. Lentils represent fortune in the new year, plus it's a real soothing comfort food meal after a long celebratory night. Usually pickles and rolls are served on the side. And maybe a side garden salad. It's yummy! It could be eaten for any meal. I had it for the first time at about 3:00 am in a Czech restaurant on New Year's Day year 2000. It was the only thing most restaurants there served that early in the morning. Chaos did not ensue because of Y2K.

What is something you'll be happy to leave behind at the end of 2022?

Sadly just watching TV and toasting my cat with Pepsi. 😂

Same question, any New Years traditions.

Well, I traditionally either fall asleep or am nearly asleep on NYE (it's my best night of falling asleep all year) when I am awakened in a fright because people shoot off guns at midnight (or whenever they remember). I could do without.

Are you going to have much warmer temperatures this weekend?

Yes much warmer but rain......I'm ok with that

Question: Do you eat a traditional New Years dinner?

Nope, no traditional food what ever that is for New Years. Just another day. Even back in the day when I went out there was no food associated with this day.

This is interesting I never knew there was any food associated so, same question. Do you eat a traditional new year’s meal?

A: My dad likes to make black eyed peas, cabbage, and cornbread -- he said it's the traditional meal you eat on new year's day. I am not a big fan lol.

Q: What is your specialty dish / family recipe / favorite meal / or favorite traditional cuisine ?

We eat pork and sauerkraut. I can't eat sauerkraut with my MAOI so I only taste it (I love it so I miss eating it).

Do you prefer real books or digital?

I posted just after you, sorry.

My best dish I make is meatloaf. I know that's a pretty easy thing to make but I have this recipe that only works for me and it's pretty good.

It was so so so. Neither fantastic nor sad.

What makes you lose track of time?

A: Video games. I swear I’ll do one minor thing, blink and 3-4 hours have passed.

Q; Do you have siblings? If not, do you wish you had some? If yes, where in the hierarchy do you stand ?

I sometimes do internet stuff. Often also take a drink of water. Unless I'm slightly on the "up" end, mood-wise, I fall asleep quickly afterwards.

What is your favorite part of the day, and why?

around sunrise. It's when I get to go out and run (except in winter when it's too cold then I wait until it warms up a bit or just do an indoor exercise). I've always been a morning person except on certain meds.

What's your favorite day of the week and why?
