This is sort of bipolar related. I got back to the home Amtrak station last night at midnight- 45 miles minutes late because we had to stop twice for a while. But my friend that I talk with on the phone every day made plans for this trip back in January.

We got to the Chicago station around 10:30 a.m. their time. We t to a museum that had a planeterium only to find out that that part cost extra. We didn’t go. We took at least 3 Lyfts over the weekend. Good thing we did because things were pretty far from our hotel. Except the train station. That was half a mile from the hotel and I was miserable!! My feet and back started hurting in a terrible way! My feet hurt to walk and so did my back! I was near crying! Instead I made grimacing facial expressions exclaiming I’m in horrible pain notices. But t there was nothing I could do but continue walking the rest of the way. I stopped several times . I was glad to sit down. Luckily we had several hours to get there so I could take as many stops as I needed. I really was hobbling along. We finally got dinner at the station and sat for quite a long time. I got up at 9:30 this morning when my friend left my place after spending the night before he went home. I went back to sleep and set my alarm for 2 hours later but didn’t get up until 5 p.m. this afternoon!

I’m still sore but not in horrible pain any more. Chicago itself was nice. Their buildings down town are very tall! And my favorite part was the exhibit at the science and industry museum. They have 32 real, preserved embryos and fetuses. I found that very fascinating. I took a couple pix with my phone. I also took some pix of this Mbu puffer fish. I used to have 3 puffers back around 2010.

Even after basically sleeping all day I got up and got chilis for dinner. I need to get more milk etc tomorrow.

Does anyone else here have problems walking long distances in general? I know the hours of walking this weekend only exacerbated my condition and the walk to the train station only served as thre last straw! I knew I was out of shape but I never expected to feel as bad as I did.

I do. I don't get in pain though. I get tired. I'm afraid I'm terribly out of shape.

I feel the same- terribly out of shape! That walk to the train station was AFTER walking around the museum for 3 hours and the aquarium the day before. It all added together to make me in horrible pain.

I can't walk long. I twist my ankle when I walk plus I walk only on the pad right below the pinky toe. I end up dragging my foot and tripping on it. So I'd say I can walk a block before stopping to rest. It's infuriating to live in the city that everything is walking, parking is far away and expensive. If I continue walking after a little while my hips start aching. Usually I'm down for the night if I go out. On top of all that I'm out of shape. The car is usually parked a block away

Exactly. I wasn’t out of breath just in horrible pain. My blood pressure used to be high but the last year it’s been ok. Plus my A1C is normal now when it was in the pre-diabetic range.

It's good your blood pressure and A1C is normal now. My blood pressure isn't too high. Just a tiny bit. I blame it on vaping. I need to quit vaping.

I'm just not ready to get old!!! Fatness, high blood pressure, diabetes (which runs in my family), mammograms, etc. I'm not happy. I already want my young body back.

😭 😭 😭 😭

I’m already doing yearly mammograms. I hope my A1C is still normal. I was taking Caplyta and it was supposed to mess a lot of tests up but now I’m off it but still have my appointment to check in with my doctor for all this. But I’ve been off that for a couple months now so I hope everything is ok.

Went to the grocery store this afternoon. No problems walking around. I guess I’ve recuperated enough from Sunday.

December I couldn't walk 200 yards without collapsing. February-ish I was walking like 15 miles a day, and now I just get tired after five minutes, but if I have somewhere to get that's 6-7 miles away I'll make it, it'll just take a couple hours.

I had on sketchers no-tie slip on shoes. They are squishy but my feet didn’t care. And walking tilted to one side gimping hurt my back all because my feet hurt. It was only half a mile from our hotel to the train station for cryin’ out loud!

I am unsure of my sketchers slip ons. I find them to be unsecure
I have stumbled a couple of times with the name brand kinds. My last pair only lasted 6 months. I wear them 5 days a week. So maybe that is what the problem is.

These aren’t the Skechers with a rocking sole are they? I was always twisting my ankles with those. These are a smaller sole and they are comfy for every day walking but not for many hours at a time. I probably could have made it to the train station without much trouble had I not just spent many hours walking around attractions for two days!

Basically yes! I twisted my ankle one day when I had the rockers. No harm done though.
