I was wondering if anyone in here has been dual diagnosed with ADD ,ADHD OR BIPOLAR. .My buddy gave me some of his adderall and bam it was like being normal. I was calm I could process my thoughts I actually was hungry and able to eat I was not suffering from suicidal ideations or anything like that. I showed signs as a kid as having adhd but back then we were just hyper. I know there is a danger of taking a stimulant and having a manic episode.
I have been researching this the last week or so and one article said that 1 in 6 with bipolar also have ADHD. I was reading that Ritalin is better for people with bipolar.
I'm going to talk to my pdoc next time about this. I mean I have been having mixed episodes for the last year and they really make me want to end it.

I was unofficially diagnosed with ADHD by my last therapist. It didn't stick. My new pdoc says all my symptoms are just the bipolar/schizoaffective/PTSD making it seem like I have it because there's a lot of chaos going on that mimics the symptoms. She says even if I have it it'd be untreated because of the psychosis risk. If adderall helped you though it's definitely something to bring up because that's a pretty solid sign of adhd.

"What, are you crazy?"
"It's a possibility I haven't ruled out yet,"
Thanks for this!

I don’t have a dual diagnosis.

Is this something you can discuss with your pdoc to get better meds?
