This is starting to be really annoying!

I know most people would say that it's just my age but I don't think I should have to start a text, a phone call or talking with someone in person and lose my train of though immediately. This has happened a lot. Especially on the phone I have to ask them to repeat themselves. Or I have no idea how to answer them and I go completely blank. This also goes for N3, N2 and N1.

I know,.. it's probably my meds doing that. I feel so stupid when I do that which is a lot.

Something similar happens to me and I'm pretty young. I'm told it's cognitive symptoms from schizoaffective d/o. Yeah, it sucks. I don't have any advice but know you're not alone

Happens to me a lot too, but less than it used to. Back when I was on more meds it happened all the time. I find if I don’t force it it helps.

I'm sorry that is happening to you. Sounds scary. What is N1,N2 and N3. I only know these terms from aeronautics. In any case, wish I knew what to say that would help!

I'm tired of this! All day long I've lost my train of thoughts. When I'm walking into or leaving a room. Or especially on the phone - silence just hangs in the air and it makes me just feel like I should go use the bathroom and never come back.

All 3 of my kids's names start with N so I call them N1 N2. and N3.

There’s a name for losing your train of thought from one room to the next, “Doorway Effect “ it’s pretty common.

I'm having that experience in a major way from Topomax, which is being prescribed to me for bipolar depression that had become extremely severe. Thankfully, the Topomax is helping to ease the depression, but it is doing its infamous "dopamax" thing. I'm having a lot of trouble spelling words, so I have to stop and "sound them out" phonetically. Adding and subtracting is very tricky. It's all quite a ride. But I'll take it any day over that depression.

I have a hard time spelling words. Or words just look funny to me.

Am I on Topomax now? I used to be. It's in my signature.

I find the simple words look odd to me. They don’t look correct so I google the words and yep, they’re spelt correctly and mean what I think they mean, but they look all wrong. Just recently I googled, hear. It still doesn’t look right to me.

I just went to make a post here and by the time I opened the box my brain just wiped out and I was staring at the curser blink. Could cogentin do this?

I sometimes find easy words look odd to me (then I google them, my spelling is usually ok). I think it happened more when on a heavy med.

I'm going to stop taking the cogentin. It's drying my mouth out so much that I can't swallow the food I chew! Drinking water or milk helps but that's only a temporary fix.
