Unfortunately, some in that list died by suicide or drug/alcohol overdose. Not good!
It is true that most of the others have fought stigma and kept working, and found continued success, but most also had/have advantages over more "regular bipolar folks", like most here. For example, money and a type of support not available to people like me. The celebrities certainly have/had talents and determination to admire, but they are not really my main bipolar heroes. I don't relate to them that much. They aren't really in my world. But who knows, maybe if I could sing, write, or act to their levels, I might be where some are/were. And some never wanted to be a form of bipolar hero or poster child. __________________ Dx: Bipolar type 1 Psych Medications: * Tegretol XR (carbamazepine ER) 800 mg * Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg * Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 600 mg I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia. I did not know that Winston Churchill was an author and a Nobel prize laureate in literature. How amazing. I will read his books. Thank you for posting.
