I'm moving here from Neurotalk that is closing down in about a week. I was on the Bipolar forum for over 15 years. I don't talk as much as I use to, but we had so many conversations, and went through so many things, and tried to help each other over the years. I feel like we are closing a book with Neurotalk closing on July the 5th 2023. Brokenfriend

Hi bizi. I made it here from Neurotalk. Fifteen years of Neurtalk coming to a close in a week. I remember in 2007 Curious led me to the Bipolar forum on Neurotalk. After awhile she disappeared. There were a wonderful bunch of people. I'm sure that there are wonderful people here. Life goes on. BF

Hi bizi. He has calmed down alittle. I plan on getting knee surgery this month. It's going a be a busy month. I have some more pre op tests and a vision test for new glasses. Monday morning is going to be a morning of telephone calls. Doctors, nurses, and social workers trying to get me into a rehab after the knee surgery. She said there is no guarantee. My Doctor was suppose to run a EKG but he didn't. He was on vacation last week so I could not get in touch with him and another person wants to talk to me. I've been having anxiety attacks and all sorts of emotional responces. I'm hanging in there. I worked in a Supermarket for many years and walking and working on those concrete floors took it's toll on both of my knees. They put the surgery off to long and a different doctor put in the surgery order. How are you doing? Brokenfriend (Hugs)

I am sorry your knees are in bad shape.Having surgery is scary They have the surgery down pat. so be comforted in that do your research in what hospitals have the lowest infection rate. take care of yourself. you really don't have any one there in your corner. Or do you have some support? bizi

BF, I don't know can you call the social worker your waiting on to call you. I'm wondering. I think I'd be wanting answers so you know what is going on
before you have the surgery. But either way you can always say I'm going to a rehab center after surgery so I'm here at the hospital till they work it out. That will get them working to get a answer. Donna |

Hi My knee surgery has been delayed. They wanted a ultrasound of my liver, and a x ray of my lungs. They wanted me to get some more equipment. I did. I called the NP to let her know that I got the equipment. Now I'm waiting for her responce.

Why do they want an ultra sound of your liver? I have never heard such requirement. Do you have those scheduled?
I am sorry you are feeling shakened. you got this just try to occupy your mind on something else. You are doing every thing that they asked for can you call to make the appointments? lots of love. bizi

The hospital is among the best hospitals in the Nation. One of the nurses saw that my liver count was high. They told me after the ultrasound that the count was high because I had gallstones. ????? I guess my PCP will let me know what that means. In the mean while, I still haven't heard from the NP. Things just have not been working out, and there has been little communication. Whenever I have the surgery they are going to release me to go home unless the surgion wants me to go to rehab which is not likely. So basically, they don't want me to recover in the hospital after the surgery. No one in my family wants to help me after the surgery.
