My girlfriend has been in the psych hospital for nine weeks going on 10 weeks. She went to the medical hospital which then transferred her to a psychiatric hospital right behind the medical hospital. She went in for a med adjustment because of psychosis. I have not been able to communicate with her. I wonder what is happening to her? Has she been transferred to a long-term facility? What could be taking so much time?

One reason I am concerned is because she had me involved with her finances before this happened. Some bills haven't been paid in a couple of months now. I know what to do, However, since there is two-factor authentication with her bank accounts, I need her phone to do this. She still has her phone with her. Also, it's been turned off for over a month now. Her voicemail box has been full for some time.

Any ideas of what is going on here?

I am not sure. I think different areas have different laws for hospital stays, voluntary, involuntary, for being in danger, evaluation, med adjustments - you're right that's a long time but I'm like to think they're holding her for her health.

Maybe you need to see a lawyer, to get power of attorney? You guys arent married, but you dont want to ness up either of you guys' finances.
