I was wondering who is having trouble getting in the Christmas spirit this year (for those who celebrate of course)?
I've been listening to Christmas music every morning but still can't seem to get in the spirit! I suppose it doesn't help I've been sick for the most part for two weeks now. We still haven't put up our Christmas tree and wouldn't be if it wasn't for our daughter (she's twelve. Christmas IS a magical time of year for kids after all), so we're putting that up tonight. I'm just not looking forward to it because of our obnoxious, perma-kitten cats! (Our cat of twenty years passed. We got another cat. Her name is Stella. Binx and Stella are buddies. Binx is teaching Stella all his obnoxious behavior! They are trouble!) What is this time of year like for you? Are you stressed? Depressed? Excited? Sick? Not feeling it? If you ARE in the holiday spirit please share some of your holiday cheer! __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. |

I am FREAKING THE **** OUT ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS. I have so much to do before Sunday! Wrapping, more last minute present shopping, apartment cleaning, a flash fiction to write, helping my husband's mom put up her Christmas tree and take down her cat's house (he just passed. Very sad). And I'm sick and just want to sleep.

Since yesterday I have been feeling ****ing fabulous. Putting on the Christmas jams, you know what I mean?! It’s because I’ve finished work for the year. Bring on the good mood. I deserve it Ive been depressed for a year and a half. If this is the start of hypo mania BRING IT ON because I was so worried I’d have a miserable Christmas but now I know I’ll have a great one!

I'm starting to feel less freaked. Still stressing about my flash fiction because I'm running out of time and haven't had any decent dreams I can use. The last minute present shopping is done at least. Now I just have to clean and wrap and get better!

I’m having trouble getting into the spirit of it. Going though all the motions though. My birthday is the end of November so ordered a birthday bouquet that was pine, and flowers that’s also my tree as I’ve no room for a tree in my new apartment. Gifts are all bought wrapped and delivered. I have to drive to my daughter’s Christmas Eve and I’m dreading it as I hate driving at night and it’s supposed to rain too. Today I need to pick up a few things, just ordinary stuff but I put on an ugly sweater to try and get in the mood.

I did the dishes and took out the trash and picked up the apartment a little, while listening to Christmas music 🎶. Feeling a bit more in the spirit maybe. Still have wrapping to do. Sigh.
How do you wrap a squishmallow?! Lol __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. |

I don't even have our tree up and it's the 24th. I guess I'm not putting it up. I'm almost done putting my markers away. Everyone wants me to make Christmas cards for next year. I guess I have a whole nother year to get it right. we have two of Victoria's friends hanging out with us on discord but I still have no idea what we are doing. I got a beef tenderloin around thanksgiving that we will marinade tonight for tomorrow..

Wishing all here a pleasant Christmas! Hopefully any stress leading up to it has eased. If not, then we all have to push to release ourselves of it. Even if stepping away and reading a book or watching a movie and trying to forget the day, to a degree.
I suppose I had a bit of Christmas spirit these past couple of weeks. At our own home we were able to decorate with our own decorations we've had for years. They had been packed up since our move from the US three Christmases ago. Looking at my hummingbird ornament was a simple pleasure. As for yesterday and today, it's just my husband and me. Hubby's family members were away. Tomorrow, Hubby and his nephew will leave for a six day ski trip, ending with a visit with his brother. I'll be home alone, which does concern me a little. My sister has decided to stop contact with me. Sadly, her husband has poisoned her towards me. He is an abusive man that she is a hostage to. A willing hostage. It's very very sad, as this is the first Christmas that I have basically ZERO blood family relations. Her husband has a severe mental illness (not bipolar disorder) that makes him act the way he does. He accepts ZERO treatment. I can't put full blame on that, though. My sister is an adult of 58 years old. If she doesn't resume friendly contact, I suppose I'll need to start grieving the loss of her, too. I know we both look forward to all of the horrible inheritance stuff to be over with. I've simply hated the fact that my brother-in-law is pretty much running the show as executor, even though he's NOT. __________________ Dx: Bipolar type 1 Psych Medications: * Tegretol XR (carbamazepine ER) 800 mg * Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg * Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 600 mg I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia.
