I cannot believe it. Today I had no breakfast, two whole milk lattes for lunch, and a large meal at Sajj for dinner: chicken kebab with hummus, arugula, red cabbage and other veg. And I ate dinner several hours before bedtime. And I am not hungry. I was not hungry at all all day long.

I wish this were the new normal, but I am concerned that this is just my being amped up and escalating into hypomania as a result of sleeping just 5 hrs 40 minutes last night. Or maybe this being too happy and go go go is a side effect of Benzonatate, my new cough medicine. I have read that it can affect the mood and even cause hallucinations. I only took it this morning. I did not take it at midday because I was not home and I am not taking it now because I do not want further escalation.

Instead of Seroquel I will take Lybalvi for sleep. Lybalvi is usually very effective in nipping any hypomania in the bud.

It is hard to treat cough when you are bipolar!!

So it turned out that the cough medicine was not to blame. I simply took Dexedrine (amphetamine) in the wee hours of the morning due to a mix-up. I meant to take Levoxyl. Both medicine bottles were in the same plastic box. I have since removed Dexedrine. I do not plan to take it anymore.

But I am still having a pretty low appetite and my weight has "fluctuated down" a bit . I prefer not to be overly optimistic about it.

I also bought mixes in all colors other than red. I have just made and chilled the green jello. It is seriously tasty!!

And making it was super easy. So at least in that sense I am prepared: I will buy the green mix and mix and chill enough to have a virtually unlimited supply for the day before and day of the procedure. My procedure will be at 5PM.

Ugh! My hunger levels are OUT OF CONTROL. I just ate four bananas and two mandarins and finally feel full!! This is ridiculous! Dr. K and I need to do something about this, adjust my topamax or metformin levels, put me on wellbutrin, SOMETHING. Dr. Amy (she's my GP) are going to have a weight chat next Wednesday because I'm ****ing OBEEEEESE by one point (I'm 31 according to the BMI) and see if we can put me on Contrave.

SOMETHING must be done about this hunger!!!! I shouldn't have to eat four bananas and two mandarins in order to feel full. I am FREAKING OUT.

Wait... 4 bananas is a glycemic control disaster. 2 mandarins is OK, but now 4 bananas. Where is the protein? where is the fat?

I know CGMs themselves are expensive, but you can get helpful free info by subscribing to updates from CGM companies. I am subscribed to Levels and Nutrisense. Say, I learned to either pair oatmeal with an omelette or substitute oatmeal with seeds cooked in almond milk from the information I received. They provide their tips based on statistical data they gather from their users who wear CGMs. It is not personalized to YOU, but it is still useful.

So today, and it is now 4:40 PM, I have had 3 lattes (24 oz of Fairlife brand whole milk, 39 g protein in total) and nothing else. I am only now starting to get mildly hungry. I am also a bit revved up. Cannot complain as it makes me productive, but I wonder if this is hypomania starting.

And what a change since just a short while ago when I opened this thread.

I don't know. I go banana CRAZED 🤪. It's worse than chocolate. That's why we never have bananas in the house!!!! Thankfully now I'm quite full and haven't eaten anything since.

I use to let bananas overripen, then split them into pieces, freeze those pieces on a sheet of foil, collect into a freezer bag, and use a few chunks per smoothie. Overripe frozen bananas give smoothies wonderful consistency.

Then I read that overripe bananas, but not underripe bananas, cause glucose spikes, and so I stopped. But it also saves me effort.

I have made jello from a lemon flavor gelatin mix. It is delicious! Something to look forward to on my day of prepping for colonoscopy.
