Hi guys, needing some advice... I've been having itchy skin for a full week now but in the last 4 days my skin has been crawling head to toe. I thought I had head lice but that's false, I thought I had bugs crawling over my skin that's false too.

I've changed my bedding, my pjs, all my clothing. But it's still there. It's there throughout the day but mostly at night. I'm up all night scratching myself with coat hangers and brushes. I'm scrubbing like mad in the shower. What can I do? I feel like I'm going mad

Could be tactile hallucinations. That’s how it was for me it was a side effect of one of my meds.

Could also be some parasite you can’t see that lives in bedding/skin/etc. I know when I started the tactile hallucinations they checked me for scabies before listening to me.

One thing that can cause itchy skin is allergies or an allergic reaction to something. One easy way to check is to take antihistamines for a couple of days if you're able to. Perhaps check with a pharmacist to find one that doesn't clash with any meds you are on.
Have you changed your laundry soap or laundry softeners or other household cleaners lately? Laundry softeners are notorious for causing skin reactions (at least in my family). All my laundry products are for sensitive skin, so lack fragrances, dyes etc.
Also, think of any other new products such as skin lotion, soap, shampoo etc that you started using before the itching started.

The product that made me miserable for six months was Mr Clean.

I had this once. I was not in a mood episode. So it wasn’t because I was getting ill. I was just freaking itching. Everywhere. It was terrible.

Eventually went away on its own.

Wondering what your overall mental health is like at this moment, apart from the itching.

Had my depot injection today! Spoke to the nurse. She says it could be a reaction of needing the med sooner??? Like my body is telling me I need it rather than monthly it could be sooner. Anxieties are sky high.... Propanolol isn't helping tbh! I've took 4 tablets today aline and I'm still wracked with anxieties

How are you doing Miss Laura? Did your symptoms respond to your injection?

Hey, still skin crawling and itching. I called the Duty Worker on Thurs and she called me back saying seeing my Psychiatrist on Wed is still going ahead and she spoke to the Psychiatrist who said to keep taking oral med. This is 2 years in a row where I have felt like this yet they don't take it seriously. They think it's cause I'm off my meds. I've been on the meds for 3 and a bit years and counting. I record when I take them amd what I have taken. I think it's a knock of effect from the upped Depakote as I had Olfactory at the start of January and now this. I'm also high which isn't helping. I'm seeing things that aren't there and I understand they aren't real but they are still there.... I give up

Hey there, waste of time tbh! He tried to end our appt after 5 mins. But I was assertive and stuck to my notes. He says the skin crawling and itching is possibly eczema so get it checked out by a GP.... I can tell you its not but what do I know I'm only living this hell. He is giving me Zopliclone 7.5mg for sleep but it could be Monday before I get it. He dismissed my plea for another re-assessment in re to my diagnosis.... do I have AVPD and or ADHD??? He says he definitely says no to the ADHD as I've been seeing him for 8 years now He would of seen it.... yeah a 5 min appt you'll see it all. Is refusing to admit there is a problem in me seeing shadows/people and possibly talking to the people. I keep saying I'm unwell and it's falling on deaf ears. I'm at a lose. If I could I would say just discharge me but I'm under his care. I can't get another Psychiatrist as he's the one allocated to my GP surgery
