i dont know why im feeling down suddenly. i love being married. i love my husband. we had an amazing wedding. a fun short honeymoon. and we have a great new apartment in the city in a good area. but deep down i feel sad and im not sure why. its not something ive really told people as i dont want the whole guilt trip about my blessings i have. i know how lucky i am. ive waited 37 years for marriage.

i see my t next week. i hope to hear from my new school soon too. im praying i get in!

Hey HALLIEBETH,

Glad you've got good stuff going on, but sorry to hear you're sad.

I have some thoughts:

First, could it be that you're so not used to having good stuff happen that you are unsure whether you deserve it, so you're feeling sad as a kind of punishment?

Second, could you have been expecting more? More elation? Sustained elation?

Finally, are you afraid something bad will happen to ruin your happiness, so you are preemptively feeling sad?

Just brainstorming...

@HALLIEBETH87 congratulations on your marriage. Sorry you are sad.

The reason I have emotions bubble up is usually because I have expectations that are over the top unrealistic. Unfortunately things change. Relationships especially.

If you are looking for an option to deal with this, I would try writing a list of your expecatations of the marriage relationship and talk to your therapist about them and see what happens.

Hey @HALLIEBETH87

I am sorry you are feeling this way. I have a different view on this because my marriage ended recently. I found that I put a lot of energy in the "idea" of being married, and now that all that is over, the sadness set in. I am not saying your marriage is doomed, just that the "honeymoon" phase is over, that's all. You'll find other things to love about your marriage, I am hopeful for you.

Good luck in getting into school, I know you'll make it!

I think it is quite normal for people with disorders especially, to feel a big down for a while. don't judge your self. You are just humane and are trying to be super woman.

I hope you get into school I know you will sooner or later.

(((HALLIEBETH)))

Is there anything that triggered it do you think? Are you stressed becasue of the changes in your life, now being married? Waiting for school? Depressed?

When are you next seeing your pdoc?

(((( HALLIEBETH ))))

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa...

That is so sad and stressful...

There's a website called MyGrief.ca and there's something called anticipatory grief... you might want to check it out.

My heart goes out to you...

Plus the worry about finances on top of it...

Is there anything you can do to feel safe?
