I haven’t had any hot flashes. My primary drs office is working on my request for some estrogen cream to help with the dryness.

I texted my case manager to ask my Pdoc for something. To help with the insomnia

Pdoc just upped the risperdal to 1 mg for sleep! I don’t want any side effects! My primary prescribed estrogen vaginal cream. There are a lot of warnings on the information sheet! I hope both work without side effects!

Can vaginal estrogen cream make you tearful? I’m tearing up at Facebook posts when I had a flat affect this week until today!

Drs office called. My calcium level is too high. Have to give a 24 hour urine collection. Plus I got all teared up while reading Facebook this morning after the estrogen cream. Before that I had a flat affect and could control my emotions! My doctor took other labs too. Sigh.

I looked up elevated calcium and found a list of like 5 types of cancers that can cause this!

I want my prolactin levels checked! I’ll ask about it when they call tomorrow with my blood results.

There are lots of causes of high calcium, many much more likely than cancer, such as parathyroid issues, taking too much calcium supplements, or even some others (maybe vitamin A or D?), medications like blood pressure drugs & lithium, dehydration. I know it's easy to say but try not to stress over it until your doctor has run all the tests he wants and has diagnosed what is most likely causing your levels to be high.

Prolactin level is normal. Still having vaginal dryness/pain/itchiness. Seeing Dr again tomorrow but I just read online that it can take up to 12 weeks to get the full effect of the estrogen cream! I expect to get my test results at my appointment.

Dr said I need a calcium supplement - something about my kidneys excreting it. Seeing primary at 4. Nurse just called and said my prolactin level is significantly elevated- 400 something! Normal is like 25. This hopefully is whats giving me the vaginal dryness. I’m still itchy with discharge- might be yeast. We will see!

Edit: appointment is tomorrow not today! Oops. My medical file said the dr filling in for my primary dr wrote that the vaginal dryness is from the high prolactin level.

I think I have a raging yeast infection from the estrogen cream! Good thing I’m going to the doctor today!

Yes, the dr. can prescribe a more effective pill than Monistat. And less mess since you just swallow it. I forget what it's called though. My yeast infections only itch and don't have the discharge associated with yeast infections.

It's good to eat yogurt too; yogurt helps your vaginal bacteria flora return to the best pH down there.
