They gave me enough Haldol for 2/day, and the way they're talking to me is insinuating I should be taking those 2 every day, just I choose what time. (Yes, they're doing stuff like asking me why I didn't take them, and if I say I didn't really need them, they tell me I should schedule it during what's generally my more difficult parts of the day. Yeah, schedule a PRN. I know right?). Even if I take one, they act like that's a problem.
(On med management with the expectation that I give back all meds I didn't take--regardless of intention or lack thereof--because of OD history, so they know what I'm doing with the meds on a day to day basis unless I lie, but that usually backfires) I thought this idea was really weird. I'd think "as needed" meds should be taken as needed. Maybe it's because they still don't trust me to know when it is needed? Anyone else have some sort of experience where you have a PRN, but your pdoc/team expects you to take it every day whether you (feel you) need it or not? __________________ [Insert thought-provoking and comedic quote here] |

No. Never experienced that. That is sorta strange. Mine is more like, "You take it EVERY DAY?!" (And we're talking about a seroquel prn here, not a benzo.) They're SHOCKED af I take it every day.

Yeah. I don't know what the deal is. I mean, it's SEROQUEL. I can't help it I have multiple freak outs a day. New psychiatrist was all like, "Well, you already take diazepam and gabapentin. You shouldn't need seroquel for anxiety." LADY it's called TOLERANCE. As in, I have a heavy sedative tolerance. I mean, 100mg of seroquel doesn't even knock me out. It just helps me feel chill. __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. 😊 - anonymous The night belongs to you. 🌙- sleep token "I'm scared. I'm old. Yeah, my prn is hydroxyzine and only 25 mg at that. Not a benzo either. And as a last resort, I can take prn propranolol, which is not a benzo either. And my pdoc freaks out if I'm like I take it everyday and some days I'll take 2 and he's really NOT happy about that at all. __________________ Bipolar 1, PTSD, anorexia, panic disorder, ADHD Seroquel, Cymbalta, propanolol, buspirone, Trazodone, gabapentin, lamotrigine, hydroxyzine, There's a crack in everything. That’s funny! Way back when they put me on benzos prn ( the said it was prn but they like muddy’s people wanted me to take it multiple times a day) they were up set I didn’t like the benzo because it gave me that floaty head feeling I didn’t like. They put me on other pins too but mostly I didn’t take them cause in my family there’s the expectation that you stand on your own two feet. Anyway my experience was the same as muddy’s. If it’s prn why do you want me to take it everyday? They said I was desperately majorly sick and needed these drugs every day.
