I was wondering what antidepressants you've tried and what side effects you experienced, specifically if you experienced sexual side effects (sorry if this is TMI... but I'm having a problem here!). Also, what are you on right now, and do you have that specific side effect or not?
Also - has anyone ever been on viibryd? I'd never even heard of it until I googled what ADs are least likely to cause sexual side effects. Also also - (sorry for so many also's!) I only can go on something that has a generic. For reference, this is what I currently take: Seroquel 400mg Loxapine 50mg Gabapentin 800mg x4 Lamictal 200mg Diazepam 30mg Propranolol 40mg Sertraline 200mg And topamax and metformin to supposedly help control my weight... HA! Whatever. Oh, and (editing raspberry coming in) - for ADs in the past I've been on Cymbalta, wellbutrin, effexor, remeron and trazodone, and none of those worked out for me. __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. 😊 - anonymous The night belongs to you. 🌙- sleep token "I'm scared. I took vybriid when it first came out. I was constantly nauseous but stuck with it because it worked. I was taken off it because I moved states.

I had short periods of lowest dose Prozac and it did not cause sexual side effects to me. Also, I have a male friend who has been on highest dose Prozac for years (he has an MDD and Prozac + TMS + therapy + a very high level of physical activity keep him in top shape. So, he does not have sexual side effects, either.

I noticed that when I switched from Effexor to Wellbutrin, I was more easily aroused. And I was on a tiny dose of Effexor (37.5mg).

I was shocked by how much gabapenton you are one. I must have read this wrong. It looks like you take 800mg 4 times a day. That is 3,200mg a day is that right? __________________ lamictal 2x a day haldol 2x a day cogentin 2x a day klonipin , 1mg at night, fish oil coq10 multi vit,, vit c, at noon, tumeric, caffeine Remeron at night, zyprexa, requip2-4mg |

I take Prozac and Mirtazipine and they're good. They only partially work for me but side effects are minimal.
I think the biggest side effect is blurred/double vision but I manage that with reader glasses - I can see distance no problem. __________________ * Dx: Unspecified Bipolar and Related Disorder * Rx: Remeron, Prozac, Klonopin My avatar picture is a photo of the Whirlpool Galaxy I took in April 2023. I think thr FDA approved max is 3600 mg and my neurologist has some of his patients on 4500 mg. He says it is safe. I have no personal experience going above 1800 mg or maybe 2100 mg max.

Prozac is the med that triggered the mixed episode for me that led to me being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. In general, my current pdoc won't prescribe me any SSRIs.
I hope you are able to find the med combo you need. It's such a tricky thing to figure out sometimes... __________________ Lamotrigine: 300 mg Bupropion: 150 mg Risperidone: 3 mg |

No. You read that right. 800mg of gabbies four times a day. We tried lowering it once but it ended poorly. __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. 😊 - anonymous The night belongs to you. 🌙- sleep token "I'm scared. I'm old. I want to go home!" 😁 - anonymous |

Lexapro-instant mania, instant discontinuation (prior to BP dx)
Prozac- Instant mania, instant discontinuation (while also on seroquel) Effexor-rapid cycling. Like, 5 hospitalizations in five months rapid cycling. (Also a bytch to come off) Cymbalta-didn't work, maybe caused a headache? Trazodone-only used for sleep, but I wasn't sleeping because of mania, so...no Mirtazapine- fk mirtazapine. Yeah, can't be killing yourself because your hands are too busy shoving food down your mouth Wellbutrin- also instant mania, also instant discontinuation (I was on other antimanics I just don't remember what/which ones) Doxepin-the only thing it did was make me set a timer at night Amoxapine-I think my heart almost exploded on this one, but it worked pretty well and I don't think I had any other side effects __________________ [Insert thought-provoking and comedic quote here] |

Yeah, um, wellbutrin made my anxiety intolerable, effexor made me homicidal, cymbalta stopped working, remeron made me so hungry I couldn't stand it (like I'd sit and eat eight bananas in one sitting!), and trazodone didn’t work.
I just took remeron and trazodone for sleep though. I haven't really been on many ADs for actual depression. I spent the majority of my life on no AD, exception being sertraline at two points. I'm scared to try a new one, but this whole side effect thing is not cool. And, well, sertraline is giving me these stupid sexual side effects! Ugh. __________________ The darkest of nights is followed by the brightest of days. 😊 - anonymous The night belongs to you. 🌙- sleep token "I'm scared. I'm old. I want to go home!" 😁 - anonymous |
