What’s this used for? I’m on Vraylar 1.3 and gabapentin now after today’s hour long Pdoc appointment trying to find me meds I haven’t already reacted to or could react to. My Pdoc said if this combo doesn’t work I’ll have to think about ect. The end of the road. Clozaril is the last ditch effort and I can’t even take that! What’s gabapentin used for besides anxiety? I’m already on klonopin.

My friend used to be a behavioral pharmacologist and worked with this drug. He says it’s safe. It’s an anticonvulsant.

I take gabapentin at night, it helps with staying asleep. A cousin of mine was on it to help with nerve pain but at a much higher dose.

One of my doctors wanted to put me on it for pain issues to help me relax some muscles but I didn't want to deal with the side effects.

Yes there’s a lot of human drugs that are adapted so cats and dogs can take them, allergy meds, benzos, antidepressants. When I worked at the shelter I was surprised at the number of drugs that were used, but at a much lower dose. I used to give my car benzos before a long car ride but stopped cause he didn’t need them. He was a fantastic traveler

There are a lot of serious drug interactions with gabapentin. Opioids, morphine, Benadryl…. I’ll have to look it up!

One reaction is benztropine which I take. Just makes you more drowsy but I didn’t notice last night.

My cat was on that for pain. It made him dopey. It has a reputation as a pretty safe non-abrasive drug that helps with a lot of stuff.

I’m not on a high enough dose yet to feel dopey I don’t think.

I sent a portal message to my primary so she knows I’m on gabapentin since there are such big drug interactions.

I take Gabapentin before bedtime for two reasons: to ameliorate EPS caused by AP's and to improve sleep architecture.

I take 800mg 4x a day for my anxiety. If I don't take it I have nightmares. 😱 I think it's a hard drug to wean off of. When my old psychiatrist tried weaning me off it it didn't go well.

Took my 2nd pill last night along with my other nighttime meds and fell asleep while in the middle of a text conversation. Never said bye or goodnight just fell into a sedated sleep. My friend who worked with this drug says the sedation will eventually wear off. Pdoc is going to up the dose in 2 weeks. I’m supposed to check in with her then.

It’s 4 am and I can’t sleep. I thought gabapentin wasn’t supposed to do that.

It doesn't help me sleep, if that means anything, but neither does seroquel really, so I'm probably just a weirdo.

I take gabapentin and am not sure it really does anything for me, definitely doesn't help me sleep. I'm on 600 mg a day though I have been on as much as 1200 mg a day. My neurologist prescribes it for peripheral neuropathy and I'm not even sure it helps that but pdoc also wants me to stay on it for bipolar and anxiety I guess?

All that manic charging made my credit card balance high and I just got a notice that my credit score’s gone down!
