Have any of you experienced mood swings into substantial depression? Has this happened every day right when you wake up? Has this happened regularly? Then I am fine for most part of the day albeit a little depressed.

Can anyone relate?

I do not know if I should note this as a moderately depressed day in Moodtracker.

Could it be an indication of an oncoming depressive episode?

I only say this because I experience something similar except on the other end of the pole. Sometimes for me when there's a manic episode approaching, I start experiencing regular mood swings into hypomania at night. After a few days it progresses into hypomania all the time, and then mania.

Early morning worsening is classic in depression.

I hope it is not an indication of a depressive episode. I cannot afford this right now. I am dealing with a traumatic experience right now inn my dealings with Adult Protection Services.

Maybe that is what is triggering these episodes? But then again in the recent past I have had this happen to me without associated trauma. But the mood swings have not been this bad.
