Got an extra $399 hanging around? This laboratory can test you for the presence of the GRK3 gene which is strongly associated with Bipolar Disorder. If you test positive, it can help confirm your diagnosis of Bipolar, or if you have never been diagnosed it can tell you that you are at risk for developing the disorder.

At least that's what this outfit claims. Lots of solid research about GRK3 to support it.

Thats alot of money for something you can do for free! I found out that if you speak to people who are bipolar our stories are all the same almost word for word its fuc in amazing . But if you just think you are ( alot of drug addict do ) you cant relate to any of it and most the time they will run in the opposite direction to get away from you .

Yeah, I would probably go spend that money on ski boots or a subwoofer.

But... it might be an idea to see if my kids have it.

Actually, it might help in the future for people that are making disability claims. I have not heard of this, but I could see it becoming a diagnositc criteria.....especially with so many people being diagnosed Bipolar 2 these days.

Also, since Bipolar 2 and Borderline Personalisty Disorder look "alike" if a gene exists that is associated with Bipolar, the test could make sure that people are getting the right treatment....ie meds mostly for Bipolar and therapy mostly for BPD.

Interesting.....
