I'm on Lamictal and have had trouble with little rashes, not the Lamictal rash, and they usually are little tiny patches and they go away with hydrocortisone. I've had them checked out and my pdoc and I just monitor them to be sure they don't get any worse. Just a few days ago my legs seem to have broken out all over the place. I took an antihistamine last night along with the hydrocortisone, but it didn't make any real difference.

I have a pdoc appointment today and I afraid he may take my med away. I love this med. I feel really good on it. I'm already going to lose my Cymbalta this visit because of insurance reasons and am going to have to try something else for my anxiety. Now I think I'm going to lose both my meds and am going to go spiraling down into that horrible depression again. I hope this all works out.

Schatje~

Hi~ I am sorry your going thru this. I dont know if the lamictal is a problem or not. It could be. My husband when he gets stressed, gets rashes... but its actually folliculitis. Its an infection in the hair follicle that is caused by staph bacteria. How long have you been on Lamicital? Because if the rashes didnt start right away after you were on it.. most likely its not the problem. It may be just a matter of being on some antibiotics to take care of the rash and keeping the areas dry and clean. Mention this to your pdoc and see what he says ok? Hope this helps some.

Thank you for the support Beth.

I'm still on Lamictal for now and also Venlafaxine in place of the Cymbalta. I've been referred to a dermatologist to check out the rash and to determine if the rash is really because of the med. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't take away my Lamictal.
