Went to see a psychiatrist today, went better than I thought it would.

She said that I definitely have a mood disorder, and that it sounds like bipolar, but she can't say for sure until she's seen me in a depresssed episode, and a hypomanic episode.

So for now, she's given me an anti-depressant, and plans to wait and see what effect that has, and to re-evaluate from there.

That's good news. Now you are waiting to see if the anti-depressent puts you into a manic episode? Or, actually, pdoc is. Psychiatrist appointment I hope you get a diagnosis soon. I know I felt so much better just knowing what I had.

Thats looking on the bright side. But for me being bipolar sucks . But maybe you caught it early . They say it doesn't get bad for most people in till their late 20's-early 30's.

Yep, that's the plan. I do want to know what is going on mainly, so that maybe there can be an idea of how to deal with it.

My mood swings have sucked a lot recently.

I hope I've caught it early, so that maybe it won't get to that point.

Hi reddevil~
You have a positive attitude @ your Dx. The wonderful news is the number of meds that work for a Bipolar Dx is phenomenal!!! Alleluia!! Psychiatrist appointment I found a whole new life!!! Psychiatrist appointment I need to mention it did take a few weeks for meds to take effect and to get the correct concentration for me, but once everything was just right it was great! I wish you the same happiness.

I sincerely hope someone is working on a better way of testing people for Bipolar disorder than the present "technique". 30 yrs ago !!!! I could test the concentration chemicals in my pool! Surely they can create a test whether a human is Bipolar or not by now!(Even a yes/no strip!!!) Ya Think??!! Sorry,IMHO

I wish they could mlp. It would be very useful.

I hope it doesn't take too long to find the right meds.

Watch out for the anti-depressant. It can sometimes put people with bipolar into an episode. I hope you get a solid diagnosis soon.
