Hello
My name is Johnathon and I'm in the army. I have been being seen for a few years now for depression and personality trait disorder. A few yearsw ago I had a doctor say that he thought that that I was BI Polar but did not want to put it into my medical records at the time. LAter that same year another said the samething. Yes I was a fool and did not have it documented.
My question is how long does it take to get diagnosed one way or the other? What is a fair price to think that you are going to pay by the hour to see a good doctor?
I'm currently thinking about seeking help outside of the army as the army is now not treating me they are just handing me off from doctor to doctor now. I do have to say at least they did try for a year or so to help me now it is meds and go see this person and then that one. But they also will not tell you what they write in your file and they are not willing to talk diagnoses anymore.

Thanks
Johnathon

Welcome to PC...

There are some specific tests; however, I'm not sure I would worry about the documentation...if you saw both professionals and they are agreeing...I think you have your answer...

Fair price...I would imagine that varies...if you do not want Miltary...many therapists...will help make fees manageable.

It sounds like you are taking meds...if you have been prescribed meds typically used for people who suffer from bipolar...again I think you have a pretty good idea.

It's tough...you want to know...put a label on it...but really the label isn't as important as seeing someone to get everything "stabilized"...I have found a Pdoc and T work the best combination especially if there is exchange of information.

I think I'm rambling ... I'm a bit off today .... kind on auto pilot... while taking the kids to school...I was heading to work...other examples but that will get off topic.

Thanks Direction

Yes I agree with you that I really already know it is just not in the medical records and I get a different Pdoc every 3 months to get more meds.. Boy what fun that is, I have a T now and she is trying to get to the point of things. I see her tomorrow and hoping to get some where. Never know an hour on a tight schudale.

Thanks again

Johnathon
