Hi guys- so I just recently got diagnosed with mild bipolar disorder (been depressed for awhile now, but just now started dealing with some mania and mixed states). When I was depressed, I kind of pushed people away by isolating myself and all that, and to be honest, I felt like I got so used to being in a depressed state that I no longer needed much help- I had pretty much figured out how to deal on my own. But now that things are kind of going haywire on me, I'm realizing just how important it is for me to have some sort of support system to turn to when times get rough. I do have my therapist, by honestly that's pretty much it, and making one sole person deal with me seems very unfair to my T. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to build a support system- who to turn to, how to let them know what you're going through, stuff like that. I'm not the best at opening up to people, so I'm kind of struggling to find people I can trust, I don't really know where to start. So yeah...any advice would be very helpful. Thanks everyone.
