Okay.

I was originally diagnosed with General Anxiety Disroder, Majer Depression, and OCD (not the personaliity Disorder). I ccan't take any medication becasue I was still a minor and my mom said "No". But I recentley discoverd that I was bipolar. I only was diagnosed with Major depression becasue I didn't feel comfortable telling my doctor about the stuff i did when I was Manic. That was a bad idea becasue he would'nt have cared anyway. Now I experiance all the bipolar symptoms with no way of treating for it other than tryin to cope with it myself. My family has absolutly no support (my mom just thinks I am bored and out of control) and the reason why I am writing this is becasue one thing I have noticed about me is the really bad moods I can get into.

Usually I will have these angry, mad at the world fits. Like this morning I woke up in an ok mood. Then I started walking down the staris and I felt like I hated everything. I started pointing out all the things around the house that make me mad, and my sister was liek, "OK gotta go by" becasue she really didn't want to hear it (nether would I). I do this alot I really don;t hate everythign in the world, I just get that feeling everyso often.

Does anyone else experiance this?

Thanks' for reading,

Roman

i could be wrong, but i think the criteria for BP requires that the highs/irritability last for more than 4 days at a time?

from the list you posted a while ago, though, i would agree that a BP diagnosis is something worth looking into.

is it possible for you to change drs at all?
Thanks for this!

Hi Roman! I'm sorry you are struggling so much with everything and not getting much support. That definitely must suck!!

If I were you, I would try not to worry about what your diagnoses are. You sound like you know you are ill. That is all that really matters. If you can identify your symptoms, well you don't really even need to do that, if you can identify what gives you pain, the severity of it and what is difficult or impossible for you do because of your illness, that's all you need to know and all you need to tell the pdocs and Ts.
Let them worry about the labels. They are really just for them to communicate with each other and insurance companies.
If they know your symptoms, they can try and figure out meds and ways to help you.
I have HUGE OCD tendencies and love to label things, so it's hard to follow my own advice, but I do find it frustrating to label because there are so many people with the same diagnoses who have such radically different symptoms that are expressed in such radically different ways. So, I find it less distressing to pick and choose what applies to me and not worry about trying to “fit in” certain categories.
Thanks for this!

Roman,
If you are no longer a minor, look into a community service board, it could be a different name,, but you can get help there, either free or sliding scale. Here where I live the above is what its called and it serves two cities (small). I hope this helps some. Contact NAMI too, they are on the web, you might find a connections group near you, its a peer group, the members may have more suggestions that could get you help. My group has folks that know a LOT about getting help from different agencies.
best wishes to you,
I wish your mom could see that you are suffering.

Amy
