I am currently seeing A psychiatrist Privately (whom bulk bills) I have been seeing him since 2005 the thing is he seems to be arrogant by refusing to communicate with any one and I only see him for about 10-15 minutes every 6 weeks. I am currently Diagnosed with Panic disorder with agoraphobia, PTSD, Asperger's Syndrome, Bipolar 2, mixed anxiety disorder and also issues with low self esteem. I am also seeing A college clinical psychologist (once every 1 to 2 weeks for an hour day to day issues as well as study issues) A bulk billing private clinical Psychologist (Once every 3weeks for an hour), as well as a caseworker whom used to work in mental health, and I also see a G.P for an hour about once every 2 weeks to keep an eye on my mental health.
My problem is there is no communication between my psychiatrist and everyone else unless my caseworker come with me to the appointment where everyone else will communicate with each other and also I am unable to open up to the psychiatrist but I seem to be able to open up to my other supports. My medications still hasn't been worked out as nothing seems to work according to my psychiatrist and my moods seem to be affecting my studies to the point that I had to repeat the same subject several times and is really if not already starting to destroy my reputation. My Teachers and Head Teachers are really supportive thankfully. I was wondering what I should do One part of me is scared to chance psychiatrist (which my College Psychologist says I should continue with as I have a "History with my psychiatrist" Another part of me say I need to change and then another part of me says my try get my medications and disorders into control in hospital as I feel I have no control over my emotions at the moment due to family and study issues. My old Psychologist at an old campus has told me that she is concerned about me being under my current psychiatrists care. My caseworker has been to an appointment and has said has also has concerns about me being under my current psychiatrists care. Sorry that it was long Hope it make sense Thank you for any Advice |

this is just my ho but what has worked well for me for 18 years is having a pdoc and t that do communicate regularly about my bpd. if you have a pdoc that is so arrogant that he won't do this, my suggestion would be find another pdoc. there are many good ones out there. get a recommnedation from a professional who you trust re bpd. if the first rec. isn't a good fit then keep looking til you find one that is willing to work with your t and any other professionals in the health field that you see. more info re you is the key to good mental health and treatment.
hope you will keep us posted on how u are and what you decide to do. u are improtant to us.
