No, I've never thought to do that before. I am currently not seeing a therapist but I will be in a couple of weeks and I think that is a good idea.
Have you done it? Does it work for you? I wound up stopping one with one T because she talked about business more than my well-being.

I journal anytime. Often after sessions, but not always. Sometimes right after a session (because I tend to forget the details--which is okay because the process still works, but sometimes I do want to remember more specifically) and sometimes a day or more later when something comes to mind, even if that is just a desire to write about what the session felt like.

I enjoy having more time to relax and reflect on weekends and more time to write about that, too. I look forward to writing

Sometimes I just pick up the journal (cheap spiral notebook, in reality! lol) and pen and start writing and let it come without censoring or judging it. It's fun to see what comes up and I have been surprised often. Surprised by things I notice, by the intensity of feelings I had been dismissing instead of welcoming, by an issue coming up that I didn't realize I was struggling with.

I love journalling and I get excited when I buy a new notebook! Fresh clean and ready to be filled up.
